A couple of weeks ago I shared with you guys my inspiration and thought process behind the our kids’ room. We’ve had a few things we were able to accomplish since then! Painting? Check. Updated light fixture? Check. Hanging chair? Yasss. Bunk bed? Oh yeah. Want to see some in progress pics?

A Clean Slate
Now that we’re settling into our new home, I wanted to share with you a few ways we’re keeping that “new” feeling. You know that feeling, when you move into a new place and everything is fresh and clean? It’s a new start, right? Well I’m bound and determined to make that clean feeling last. You’ve already read some of my moving cleaning tips, but let’s chat some more on how to keep the house clean after moving in.
Getting Backyard BBQ Ready with Ace Hardware
Thank you Ace Hardware for sponsoring this post. While this was a sponsored opportunity from Ace Hardware all content and opinions expressed here are my own.
Who’s ready for the the holiday weekend? I am! Our Memorial day weekend will be filled with lots of pool and BBQ-time. Perfect way to celebrate with friends and family. When we moved into our new home a couple of months ago, the backyard needed a looot of work. The bushes were over grown and ground was wet and muddy. Not a fun place to hang out at all. The backyard needs a complete overhaul for sure, but we really wanted a yard we could hang out in this summer.
So not having time to take on a major yard project we set our minds to doing some major trimming and cleaning up. With a ton of overgrown plants, weeds, dead leaves and misc debris gone…there was much more space to work with. Good start.

Learning more with Skillshare
With our recent move, I’ve kind of felt like we’ve got a fresh start. Not only with the house itself (I love a good decorating project!), but also with our daily routines. With the kids in different preschools, with new schedules and commutes our schedule is completely different than it used to be. I decided that it was the perfect time to create a little pocket in my day devoted to learning.
How to Deep Clean after Moving with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Not only is it time for spring cleaning but we’ve also just moved. So in honor of that, I thought I’d post about how to deep clean after moving with one of my favorite cleaning secret weapons: the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Perfect timing to partner on a post together, right?! Oh and I got to have a little chat with one of my favorite bloggers and tv personalities, Jillian Harris as well, who is also a Magic Eraser lover. I’ve been of fan of hers ever since watcher her on the Bachelor! And now I love that I can catch her on my favorite tv channel, HGTV.

Spring Tea Party Event
So like I mentioned last Friday, my friend Jessica and I hosted a super fun tea party event for our local blogger friends last weekend. Those of you who follow me on Snapchat (my username is copycatchic) and on Instagram (also copycatchic) you got to see a little sneak preview!
We partnered with some amazing sponsors to make it all happen. Not only did they make our event a success, but the ladies attending got to learn more about these great companies. Jessica and I carefully chose companies that we personally love and enjoy, whether they be local to the San Francisco Bay Area or because of their eco-friendly philosophies.
So let’s get on to the pictures, shall we? Then we can talk about all the fun details!

food
munchery
We started off with the fresh fruit salad. It wasn’t your typical fruit salad – it had mango, papaya and kiwi. So tasty. We also had a variety of baked goodies: mini lemon, blueberry/raspberry and banana nut loaves, different kinds of muffins and apple and pear tarts. So delicious. Oh and SO easy. If you didn’t know, Munchery delivers to your door! So I placed my order and had it delivered the evening before. When it came time to set up for the party, all we had to do was set it out 😉 Perfect party food, am I right?

the art of tea
We were lucky to be working with The Art of Tea, they have SO many award-winning and scrumptious tea flavors to choose from. It was hard to decide. In the end, we let them decide and they chose the following tasty teas for use to drink. We tried the Amoré, 1896 and Appletea’ni flavors and they were definitely all crowd pleasers.

gift bags
Yay everyone loves a goodie bag, am I right? Let me tell you everything that was in ours AND at the bottom you can enter to win one too 🙂
herbivore botanicals
Herbivore sent us their Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist and Rose Lip Butter. They’re new faves already. That lip balm is…the bomb 😉
love goodly
Love Goodly is a subscription service that I just learned about. They curate bi-monthly boxes that focus on eco-friendly and cruelty-free companies. Their boxes contain nontoxic beauty and skincare items, but also fun things like healthy snacks, and green accessories. They sent us some of their Green Molecule product as well as a gift card to use i their site. They’re also running a promo right now for $6 off their April/May box. Very cool.
zady
Zady is website that offers quality fashion. They’re the epitome of quality over quantity. The pieces they offer are made by knowledgeable craftsmen out of the very best material. I love buying a timeless piece of clothing that I know will last as long as I want to wear it.
vitality bowls
I just recently discovered Vitality Bowls when they opened up a location near me. Such a fun treat. They use super tasty and exotic fruits and berries combined with crunchy granola, coconut, seeds or nuts. They’re super yummy and I love putting them in the freezer and saving them for dessert.
POP ORGANIC CANDY
I discovered this great organic candy shop on Etsy when I ordered organic lavender sugar cubes for the party. I loved their philosophy so much that I asked them if they wanted to give us some of their delicious (and unique) flavored candy for the party and goodie bags. For the party we all sampled organic rosemary and pine nut toffee (my fave), organic floral bark, and popping berry crunch which is like organic pop rocks (yasss!). For the goodie bags we got to sample a couple of their fun lollipop flavors.
THE ART OF TEA
The Art of Tea gave everyone sample tea tins in the goodie bags. Great way to extend the tea tasting fun 😉
THE BOUQS
The Bouqs also gave everyone a coupon code to use when they order flowers. Yay!
world market
We got these adorable bud vases from World Market to put each attendees gift bag. Aren’t they fun?

Galentine’s Day Party with Copy Cat Chic
I’ve been wanting to throw a Valentine’s Day themed party for a few of my friends for awhile now. The correct term is a Galentine’s Day Party. Yes, that’s what I’ve been told 😉 Either way, it’s a party filled with hearts and treats, am I right? I thought it would be fun to update the traditional Valentine’s Day theme of red roses and chocolate and add a modern twist, especially since this isn’t your average celebration.
I decided to partner up with Pier 1 for the party because not only do they have an amazing selection of tabletop and party decor, BUT they’re also running an amazing Instagram contest during the month of February. They’re handing out $5,000 Pier 1 gift cards to 5 winners! Pretty amazing right? All you have to do to enter is post a photo to your Instagram account featuring Pier 1 products and use the hashtag #Pier1LoveContest. You’ll also need to be following @Pier1 and have a public account.
I worked together with Kendall, who reached out to me during our contributor search and we brainstormed. Eventually we narrowed the theme down to blush and gold. Fun right? Perfect for a Galentine’s Day party. And what’s more amazing than serving donuts and champagne at a girl’s get-together? Sounds like a perfect combo to me 😉
Once we had the theme ready to go we got most of our party decor at Pier 1 and went to town. My friend Jessica from HejDoll came to celebrate and took all of the gorgeous pictures.

We took our inspiration from those gorgeous ombré blush candles from Pier 1. I’m not sure if you can tell in the photos, but the pink candles are rimmed with gold. So that’s where the blush and gold theme came into play. We started with a white tablecloth – white always makes a great base to let the tabletop decor shine. Then we draped it with white tulle to give it a soft, feminine feel.
Kendall found some pink ombré wrapping paper that matched the candles perfectly and we used that as a table runner. The white plates trimmed in gold were perfect for our theme as they tied in the white of the table cloth with the gold on the candles. And of course we couldn’t NOT use the matching place cards. The cream napkin tied in with the cream on the runner and the gold trim matched the dishes and place cards. Oh and let’s not forget the bubbly, we loved the modern shape of these champagne flutes. Aren’t they sexy?
Kendall also came up with the cutest DIY arrows, so perfect for a G/Valentine’s theme. She’ll be posting a how-to later! The flowers came from Trader Joe’s and the gold vase was one we already had lying around. It’s pretty simple, but eye-catching as well, right? The balloon/tassels/confetti were an Etsy find and we had the donuts custom-made at a local donut shop.
Had you heard of a Galentine’s Day party before? Doesn’t it look like fun? I mean, what’s not to love about pink/gold + donuts/champagne, right?
And don’t forget to enter Pier 1 Import’s Share the Love Photo Contest for a chance to win a $5,000 Pier 1 gift card!
