Ever since our last trip to Mendocino, Ryan and I kept saying we should really come back without the kids. Traveling with kids is always fun, but sometimes it’s just so nice to sneak away and leave the kids behind, wouldn’t you agree?[Read more…] about Designer Destination | The Brewery Gulch Inn
This school year really passed by fast this year. I’m still reeling, but really looking forward to lazy days and sunshine! For Arden and Conrad, the countdown is on. We only have one more week left!
I always like to celebrate with the kids by taking them to ice cream on the last day of school. I thought it would be fun to host an ice cream (and other sweets) social with school friends at our house this year.[Read more…] about School’s Out, Let’s Celebrate!
A few weeks ago during spring break, we decided to do a very stereotypical thing for spring break…We went to Florida! Where did we go in Florida? No, not Disney World, no, not Miami, no, not Ft. Lauderdale. We went to Rosemary Beach. Now you may have that blank look that most of our friends gave us when announcing our destination. Or if you’re from the Mid-West or the South you’ll know EXACTLY where. Rosemary Beach is a lesser known beach destination on the gulf coast (commonly referred to as the Emerald Coast) or inner coast of Florida. There’s a tiny little strip of a highway called 30A rolling through a bunch of gorgeous little beach towns each with their own distinct personality. We mostly spent our time in Rosemary beach and it’s gorgeous cousin, Alys Beach, just a hop, skip and a bike ride down 30A.[Read more…] about 36 Hours | Rosemary Beach Florida

I tend to veer away from getting too commercialized when it comes to Easter baskets. Gone is yearly the tradition of getting a bright, new (very plastic) Easter basket filled with fake, plastic green grass and fake, plastic, disposable eggs. I cringe just thinking about how wasteful that all was! I like to purchase items that kids will use over and over again or that I can repurpose.[Read more…] about Gift Guide | Easter Basket Favorites with World Market
Fall is my favorite season and it enjoy it to the fullest, I like to create a bucket list of things to do. Most of the items can be done for little to no dolla-dolla bills and you will be spending lots of time with your friends and family. Just how I like it! I started compiling a list of my favorite fall activities after realizing how successful our holiday advent calendar was during December. I figured why not priorities some fun fall activities as well?!
A few of my favorites and a few things on my wishlist for mother’s day! Just in case you need a little help figuring out what to get those mamas in your life!
Most of you have heard of the Konmari method and the every minimalist’s bible: The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Ever since reading the book a few years ago, we regularly “konmari” everything in the house. It’s such a simple and easy way to keep clutter to a minimum.
When we moved, I thought I would use the konmari method to help make the whole moving process easier, not only before moving but during the move as well!
I can’t believe that I’m doing this you guys…but yes, the first home tour of our new house that I’m posting is a No Makeup Home Tour. No staged, professionally photographed glamour shots in this post. But I guess it makes for good “before” pictures, right? When Kyla first invited me to take part, I had no idea we’d be moving a few weeks later!
