‘Tis the season to celebrate and be merry isn’t it? It’s the perfect time to plan some festivities with your loved ones. Unfortunately, Christmas time is also when you throwing lots of cash down on gifts and let’s not forget holiday decorations or even the Christmas tree! That all adds up, right? Those Christmas trees are shockingly expensive. I don’t know about you, but in my household there’s not much money allocated to throwing anything fancy. So my answer? Having a holiday dessert open house! I set up a nice display of traditional holiday desserts and have an open house for friends and family to stop by. Nothing too formal, but just perfectly festive enough! I collaborated with World Market and my whole how-to is over on the World Market Discover blog. They have such a great selection of holiday goodies for GREAT prices. I set up the whole dessert buffet for less than $50! Talk about easy and budget-friendly! I’ve posted some pictures of it below, but click on over to their blog for more details!

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared a Designer Destination with you all and I have SUCH a great one to share with you guys today: Solage located in Calistoga. I’ve been an admirer of Solage for awhile now and I’m excited that we got a chance to stay there a few weeks ago. It was just as amazing as I had hoped.
Solage is tucked away in a nice little corner of town, just a hop away from Lincoln Ave. The grounds are gorgeous and the hotel is spread out with rooms in several quaint cottages with a main lobby and restaurant in larger modern farmhouse-style buildings. There are complimentary beach cruisers placed around the property for your leisure, very cool. I managed to take a quick jaunt around the grounds after checking in! The pool is amazing, with palm trees and mountains serving as its backdrop.
Only a few more weeks until Christmas! How many holiday parties do you have planned? Do you need a fun gift that’ll be great in pretty much any situation? I teamed up with with World Market and continued the “celebrate the holidays for under $50” theme and came up with a festive and interactive gift: A mulled wine gift basket! It would work perfectly for the hostess, or anyone really, and great for any holiday party. It would work especially well for those hard to shop for people on your list. For a complete how-to with product details, head on over to the World Market Discover blog. I spent less than $50 on everything in the basket, and a lot of the items can be used over and over again. Love that. Here’s a few pics for you!
