A couple of weeks ago I took a little trip to Chicago. Most of you probably followed along on my Instagram. The reason? A Day of Design with Delta and John and Sherry from Young House Love. Such a great concept, right? The plan? An architectural tour around Chicago to gather up inspiration for a design board we were to create using Delta and She She products. I love me some good inspiration AND a good design challenge! Sign me up.
The day started off with a trip to the new Delta showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. We had some breakfast and talked about our design focus of the day: water! From there we boarded our trolley and headed to the Chicago Cultural Center, the waterfront and the Centennial Fountain just in time to see it spout water. We were tasked with taking pictures of things that inspired us along the way.
After our trolley tour, we had some lunch at Ema, super tasty and full of inspiration too! Then we headed back to our hotel, the London House, for our design challenge. Each blogger in the group created a design board using pictures captured from the day as well as a Delta product of our choice and She She wallpaper samples from their latest collection specially designed to use for our Day of Design inspiration. It was fun putting our design skills to work and seeing what everyone else created. Here’s the design board I created:
I used some fun architectural elements from pictures I took on our trolley tour paired with graphic elements from the She She wallpaper and products in a gold tone to go along with the Delta Cassidy faucet in Champagne Bronze. This design board will be what I use in an upcoming bathroom update. I’m super excited about tackling our downstairs bath, it really needs an update. It’s currently decorated in tones of green and burgundy. Yep, it definitely needs an update. I was so excited to be able to spend a whole day touring around Chicago gathering inspiration for the project. I mean, how often does that really happen? Usually I take a tour around Pinterest to gather inspiration for a project!
It was also so fun meeting the great group of influencers that were also along the ride. Not to mention John and Sherry, we’ve been blogger buddies for long time, but never had the chance to meet in person. They are just as fun as you’d expect after listening to their podcast or reading their blog.
