Krrb just makes it so much easier by bringing it all online! I find it a great alternative to Craigslist because it’s more visual, which perfectly suits my design aesthetics 😉

It’s Monday today and I have a fun giveaway for you all 🙂 Today’s giveaway is hosted by a company I’ve worked with a few times already and it’s always been a pleasure.

You’ve probably heard of Minted from their amazing invitations, holiday cards and business cards, but they have an amazing and unique line of art prints from a crew of really talented artists. I’ve used their prints a lot in client work and room redos and I even used some in my One Room Challenge bathroom makeover. Minted makes it so easy to find unique art with the different artists they partner with. I also love that they offer limited edition art, it definitely makes a piece more precious.

Nespresso Caramelizio and a Giveaway

You all know how much I love my Nespresso 🙂 I wanted to share with you the new morning coffee addiction. It’s seriously so yum. I combined one of my favorite warm beverages, nicknamed the “Hippie Drink” with Nespresso’s newest VertuoLine Grand Cru brew the Caramelizio.






I originally found the Hippie Drink recipe on Door Sixteen, but it looks like the originator was artist Jen Ray. Now don’t be scared, but the Hippie Drink contains Tumeric and Tahini…doesn’t sounds like a sweet drink recipe does it? Just believe though, it tastes amazing. Especially with the caramelized sugar and vanilla notes in Nespresso’s Carmelizio.

ingredients

1 carmelizio capsule
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp tahini
1 tsp maple syrup
a pinch of turmeric
a pinch of nutmeg
a pinch of cinnamon

directions

Brew your carmelizio into a medium sized mug.
In a small pot, heat the almond milk on medium without letting it get to a boil. 
Add your tahini, making sure to whisk out any lumps.
Whisk in the maple syrup and spices
Heat until desired temperature.
Add to the mug with your carmelizio coffee and enjoy!
If you want to be fancy sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top 😉
I’ve been enjoying this drink so much lately. I’m going to have to try it iced when the weather starts getting too hot 🙂

Back in December I had the privilege of attending a really fun event at Sunset Magazine headquarters. Sunset partnered up with Curious.com for a fun night filled with wine tasting, tasty food and crafts. I was excited when I first heard about it, because I’m a huge fan of Sunset and I really wanted to tour their headquarters in person. Not only was it a fun experience, I was also introduced to a new-to-me website: Curious.com.

Curious.com in their own words “A place for lifelong learning, where teachers and students can connect, share, learn, and grow.” Basically if you’ve ever been curious about something and wanted to learn the how-to, you could probably find it there. They feature interactive video lessons on a huge variety of subjects.
I’ve signed up for the YouTube Marketing class which is more on the business-side of things, but I’m also planning on taking some knitting classes – you couldn’t get more opposite 😉 It’s a fun site to explore and the classes are so reasonably priced, so I have to admit for someone who loves learning, it’s a pretty tempting site to browse.

It’s Monday and you all know what that means 🙂 It’s giveaway time! And today I’m revisiting one of my favorite brands, Zabada Clean. 
I posted about Zabada last year and talked about how their unique microfiber cloths and mits were able to replace all of my cleaning products, remember? I figured I’d check back in with you guys and let you know if I’m still using my Zabada products or if it was just all talk 😉 Well, I’m happy to tell you that I use them everyday. Yep! Everyday. The Kitchen Glove makes cleaning Conrad’s high chair a breeze. I wet it and then wipe and that’s it. The floor cleaner cleans so well too! I’m super happy with all of my Zabada products.  
In fact, I love them so much that I wanted to work with Zabada again. Let’s talk about the bathroom.. There’s no way you’d want to use your kitchen cloths to clean the bathroom and vice versa – no matter that they clean up 100% of the bacteria. It’s just not going to happen. That’s why you need the separate cleaning clothes for the bathroom. Zabada makes it easy for you to remember which is which too – the bathroom products are a fun light aqua-blue color. Yay! 
Now for dusting…We get so much dust around this house! I like to keep the windows open as much as possible, which means lots of dust : So my dust glove and marvel really make it easy to wipe down any dusty spots. It’s super fast and clings to the dust. I used to use disposable Swiffer dusting wands, which were okay, but so wasteful. I now have my washable Zabada dust glove and haven’t looked back.

I keep my dusting products and my bathroom products together in the same caddy because it’s so empty 😉 I no longer need a single bottle of cleaner! That makes me happy 🙂

March is here and we’re just that much closer to Springtime! I thought it was a good time to update the living room with a couple of new accessories to start getting ready for the new season. I had fur throw pillows, heavy throws and sheepskin all over the place, to make the space cozy for winter. Now it’s time to switch gears and lighten up a bit.
I was recently contacted by Novica because they were interested in hosting the next giveaway. I was really happy to learn more about their site and their cause. If you haven’t heard of them before, they’re a great resource that offers a huge array of internationally made products from places like India, Africa, Central America and Asia (to name a just a few) and helps support global artisans. The products are unique and well-made AND another plus? You can read the story of the actual person who created the item you’re buying. Such a cool idea and the products are a great price too. I wanted to choose a few items from the site for my own home to review for you guys. So I chose these graphic, woven pillow covers to switch out my fur ones. The pattern adds a fun element and the black and white color scheme ties it in with everything else in the room. The covers are made from wool and nicely made with thick fabric and an easy to use envelope opening.
The next item I chose was this amazing throw! It’s made from cotton and hand-woven in India. The pattern definitely ties in with my new pillow covers without being too matchy-matchy 😉 It makes a perfect couch cover btw – so nice to have when one has two little ones and a white sofa! ha. It’s definitely not your Grandma’s sofa cover, that’s for sure! On another note, do you think I’m slightly addicted to pattern? Maybe….
The last product I chose was this luxe, raw-silk scarf in black and white (of course!). It’s more lightweight than a winter wool scarf, so perfect for the unpredictable springtime season. It’s also not as light and filmy as a traditional silk scarf = all-in-all, the perfect Spring accessory! I love it already. It had me at that diamond-woven patterned edge.

Happy Groundhog day! What a random little holiday right? 🙂 Anyways, today’s giveaway is celebrating a different February holiday, Valentine’s Day! Yay!

Arden and I always love coming up with fun Valentine’s Day treats for friends and family (last year’s here and the year before). This year, we thought we’d make homemade cookies. Arden’s really into baking and cooking in the kitchen right now.

We made vegan shortbread cookies using coconut oil. We used this great recipe and the cookies were so tasty! Arden even did most of the work herself 🙂

Of course the taste test is the most important part of baking cookies, right? 😉

As for the actual Valentine’s Day cards, I saw these adorable Valentine’s Day Photo Cards from Pear Tree Greetings and I was sold. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time keeping the names of Arden’s schoolmates straight. I’m sure some of the other parent’s do too. Photo picture cards are ingenious, don’t you think? I couldn’t resist this cute picture of Arden either. It was from our holiday photoshoot, but the red dress Arden was wearing was perfect for Valentine’s Day too!

That’s not much more than your average, generic V-Day cards you get from the store. These are so much cuter than Barbie or Transformers too, don’t you think? 😉
