Gift Guide | Father’s Day 2017

1 | BRAUN MULTI-GROOMING KIT℅

This powerhouse is a 9-in-1 trimmer! Perfect daily beard trimming as the Mr attests to. He uses it every morning and loves the multi-functionality of it.

2 | URBAN EARS STAMMEN SPEAKER℅

We love our UE products over here! We use our Boom every day, so when UE came out with their Stammen, I knew we had to give it a try. It’s a bluetooth speaker with 2 tweeters and a subwoofer. It’s pretty amazing to hear the sound that comes out of this compact little package! We’re sound snobs over here and this is a great speaker.

3 | TRIPLE WALLET

The Mr has a hankering for a new wallet. This is the one on his wish list. Love the vintage-look of the leather.

4 | THE POSTER CLUB℅

The Mr has been working on his man-cave lately. I think it’s the one room in the house that has more art hung than any other! Ha. The Poster Club has some amazing, and unique choices for great prices. I love that they offer prints that you can’t find elsewhere.

5 | 3-D MAP
Along the lines of #4, this is also such a great choice for a gift. This one is a 3-D map of San Francisco, but there are a ton of other cities available. Makes a great statement piece and it’s quality, so you know you’ll have it around for a long time.

6 | CERAMIC MUG

The Mr added this gorgeous mug to his wishlist and I have to say I did a slow-clap when I saw it. It’s gorgeous and one of a kind, sturdy and perfect for that morning cup of brew.

7 | IN2GREEN ECO THROW℅

Now, I’ve seen plenty of throws in my life…I have to say this is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest throw blanket we’ve ever owned. The weave is thick and soft and it’s such a great blanket. I have a feeling we’ll all be fighting to grab this one first on family movie nights!

8 | INSTAPOT

Yes, it’s the infamous instapot! The Mr is the chef around here and he’s been drooling over this for awhile now. I think the first thing he’ll be making is carnitas. lol.

9 | PENDULUX CLOCK

How funky and cool is this little clock? I love the vintage-industrial vibe it has. The Mr loves anything fun and unique. This clock definitely fits the bill.

10 | LUXE SHEETS℅

I think everyone is a sucker for a great, soft set of sheets. There’s nothing better than climbing into a comfy bed at night, those sheets make a difference! I thought this great pinstripe set of luxe sheets from Brooklinen would be perfect!

11 | PASTURE-RAISED STEAKS

The Mr loves a good cut of quality meat. Especially with me being a vegetarian…he doesn’t get it often. That’s why I thought I’d spoil him with some pasture-raised beef from my friend Mary. He says it’s the best steak he’s ever had.

12 | GAFFER & CHILD SKINCARE℅

Gaffer & Child makes a great unisex line of organic, plant-based ingredients. The Mr likes their facial scrub and pomade!

April Faves | Spring Cleaning Picks

Starting a new monthly series! I’ll be picking a few favorites and sharing them with you. There won’t always be a theme, I think, but I thought it would be fun to share a couple of unique and natural ways I like to clean house over here. I’ve done a few cleaning posts before, but here are some products I’ve been using (or would like to try!) for spring cleaning this month.

Like I mentioned in my Mother’s Day gift guide, I’ve bought salt lamps for almost every room in the house! So Well only sells fair trade Himalayan salt harvested ethically. A+

2 | ORGANIC BED LINEN SUBSCRIPTION

Coyuchi just announced their organic bed and bath linen subscriptions. Pretty great idea!

3 | THE LAUNDRESS LAUNDRY ASSORTMENT℅

I’m loving that The Laundress has separate detergents for my lights and darks! Anything to keep my blacks looking black! They work well and sit pretty 😉

4 | PHUR CLEANING WATER℅

pHur water’s pH balance has been changed to create a cleaner and a disinfectant. The only contents? Water and salt. Yep. That’s IT. I’m so on board!

5 | AWAIR℅

This gorgeous little piece of tech analyzes the air quality of your home and gives you an air quality score. It can also integrate with other smart tech in your home to improve the air conditions. For example, it can connect to your Nest and either turn on the heater or air condition if temperature levels get too extreme. So cool right? Plus it’s so chic looking! You can also use it like a clock.

6 | CHIKUNO CUBE

I might have mentioned this little guy before, but I really do love it. It’s a charcoal natural air purifier! We have one in our refrigerator and in the kids room.

Brand Spotlight | Kaufmann Mercantile

Today I’m partnering up with a favorite brand of mine, Kaufmann Mercantile. I wanted to share a couple of peeks into my home with some of the products I have (and love) from them. As you know, I’m a huge believer in decorating with a few of the latest trends combined with built-to-last key pieces. What’s not to love about a 100% Australian Merino wool blanket? They’re super durable, they regulate your temperature and this great vintage-style design fits in almost anywhere. The design of these blankets goes back to 1855.

MASON CASH MIXING BOWLS

I love a durable, classic white bowl in the kitchen. They’re so versatile, whether you’re mixing or serving, these bowls make it look good 😉 The bowls are made by the company Mason Cash which has been around since the 1800s. Now that’s a classic!

LEATHER FLY SWATTER

How often do you see a fly swatter featured on a blog? Not very often I tell you 😉 This is such a quality product with a lot of thought that went into the design, which is ironic considering its purpose. Oh well, I believe that every, little thing in your home should make you happy – from fly swatter to sofa! These fly swatters are sourced from Ohio Amish country.

NORWEGIAN ARCHIPELAGO SET

When I first set eyes on this adorable lighthouse block set, I was puzzled. It seemed like such an exorbitant price. But I kept going back to it and just admiring the clean design and appeal. Finally I just had to have it and I haven’t regretted it since. My kids love playing with it and creating their own imaginary scenarios. AND it’s one of the few toys of theirs that I actually really enjoy looking at. It’s made in Norway from solid FSC-certified beechwood.

COTTON WOVEN THROW BLANKET

This simple striped 100% cotton woven blanket makes a perfect sofa cover for sure, but don’t be fooled, it’s at home pretty much everywhere over her. We’ve used it as a bed blanket, a picnic blanket and even as a big play tent. Super versatile and great quality, and not too heavy. I could see it making a great window curtain or even shower curtain. hey are made by only 3 employees working in the Amana village in Iowa (where the blankets originated back in 1855), a National Historic Landmark.

1. What recent product are you most excited about and why?

It’s a trusty companion that empowers readers with forty-eight how-tos spanning five categories, including Kitchen, Outdoors, Home, Garden, and Grooming, on everything from caring for cast iron pans to mastering a basic knot. Each step-by-step project includes suggested tools that can help one get the job done, whether a dibber for planting or authentic BBQ smoking bags for the grill.

2. What products or partnerships do you have coming soon that we should look forward to? We launch new products on the site every week and each one is special, but our new book “The Kaufmann Mercantile Guide: How to Split Wood, Shuck an Oyster, and Master Other Simple Pleasures,” which is now available for pre-order truly has something for everyone.

3. What’s your most popular current product?

Our most popular current product is the Satin-Finish Business Card Holder. The all-brass business card holder with copper and nickel plate is available in either silver or gold finish. Meant to withstand daily use, the nickel coating has a high hardness (almost as hard as steel) that is most commonly applied to kitchen utensils, bathroom fixtures, electrical and mechanical tools as well as office equipment. Beyond the surface, this business card holder also facilitates graceful networking, thanks to its hinged lid, which automatically lifts and separates a single card from the pack. A mirror on the interior of the lid provides the opportunity for a sly teeth or lipstick check. You can also store your credit cards and a few money bills in the case, when you want to pare down for an evening out. It also makes for a wonderful gift.

4. If you could open a KM store anywhere in the US which city would you choose and why?

I would open it in New York or the west coast, in LA, SF, or Portland since it would give me a good reason to travel more to this part of the country. I lived in California for eight years and I miss it.
