You might all remember peeking at what the living room looked like right after we moved in, and a little bit later on, and it worked for the moment. It was all furniture from the old house, and pieces I loved, but it didn’t really work for our new, more petite, living room. For one thing you opened the front door and would knock right into either the sofa arm or you’d get stuck on the rug (which was a teensy bit too big). It took me a few months of deliberation and seeing how we use the space, or need to use the space. And not to mention, lots of different room plans! But I finally came up with a design that both the Mr and I agreed on and one that would work well for us as a family.
I figured out what kind of pieces I needed and worked best for us in the space (aka loveseat opposed to full-sized sofa) and was just about to start online browsing for actual products when Walmart reached out with the perfect partnership: to furnish the new living room with pieces all from Walmart. You might think that really limited my options, but in actuality Walmart has one of the biggest selection of home furnishings and home goods I’ve seen online. I was pleasantly surprised that they had everything I needed and so many different options. Options for every kind of design aesthetic, just take this boho home trends post we did a little while back.
And turn around time between ordering online and receiving everything was amazingly fast. In fact, it look me less than a month to plan the design, research the items, purchase them, receive them, style them, photograph everything and then…BLOG about it. đ Pretty much instant gratification, right? Gotta love online shopping! And thanks to online reviews, I know what to expect when I order something. I know lots of people hesitate to buy things like sofas/beds/chairs online without testing them out first, but I find reviews from previous buyers is even more helpful.
So let’s take a look at what the living room looks like now shall we?

Lovely! Have you considered painting the molding and window casings? Sacrilege I know! I could see the molding fade away and the casings in black maybe?
