After recently purchasing a sleek metal bed (for a song), it’s been hard for me to avoid decorating the rest of my home in the same material! Dark metal decor in steel, iron, bronze, etc. has a way of instantly upping the cool/contemporary factor in any space. It’s the perfect foil in a room full of upholstered and wood-toned or painted pieces, adding a bit of an edge and a fresh new texture. Next I’m eyeing these slim shelves for my living room and an iconic look-for-less chandelier for my dining room. What do you think: too much metal…or not enough?

Burlwood has been in fashion over the past two centuries, so you can bet that this trend will have timeless appeal. I just recently discovered Walmart’s MoDRN Collection when browsing their website for some outdoor accessories. Wow! So many great options! How have I been missing out? There’s all sorts of great outdoor decor, furnishings and accessories right now because ’tis the season. But they have other stylish decor pieces for the interior as well, like that channel-tufted headboard or that chic table lamp. I’m definitely a fan! Have you guys heard of MoDRN before?   • Going natural and subtle with the Halloween decor this season. I really hate cluttering up the house with Halloween accessories that you have to store all year. That’s why TJs is my go to for these mini white pumpkins every year. I also popped into a local florist and picked up these tallow branches that look freaking SO cool in pics. But my husband says it feels like there’s a tree growing out of our table 😂 The copper-colored pillows have migrated from one room of the house to another, but I think they’ll stay here for a bit. They look so good paired with black. The kids and I are going to cut out some bats out of black construction paper and hang those tonight. Also there are pumpkins and mums on the front stoop. Feel like I’m winning at this point.
