We had our annual Friendsgiving meal this last weekend. It’s been 15 years of Friendsgiving and I always look forward to it. After this many years of hosting Friendsgivings large and small I wanted to share a few trips I learned along the way. I also partnered with World Market on this post, which is the perfect fit IMO. You can find pretty much everything you need there from food to decor – to cut your prep time in half! Check out my simple and effortless Friendsgiving table set up below!

Every year my husband and I throw a Friendsgiving for all of our closest friends. I think we might be going on our 12th year now (wow!). I like to start thinking about table decor early, so when it’s time, I can worry more about food prep and less about decor 😉 I partnered with World Market and went though a little trial run this week. They’re always my first stop for entertaining essentials and decor. You just can’t beat their selection and prices!
I decided to map out a few different looks using the same color scheme. I used a gray buffalo check plaid on the table and mixed it with some white and gray dinnerware. I love how gray is kind of a non-traditional color to use for fall. It really gives the table a more updated look. And isn’t it funny how mixing around the accessories can give the table a different feel? Also a huge factor in tabletop decor? The florals. The gorgeous flowers I used today are from my favorite local floral designer Freya Prowe from Brother & Sisters Flowers.
Take a look at the different table setups below and let me know what you think! Which one is your favorite?
I wanted to share with you my vision for our dinner this year (You also can find more inspiration on my Friendsgiving Pinterest board). I wanted the perfect blend of rustic sophistication. I adore a mix of wood and natural texture with high contrast black and white – obviously 😉 It will be fun to decorate against the woodsy backdrop in our cabin!
I partnered with Crate & Barrel and found some great items to help bring my inspiration to life. Crate & Barrel has a great Thanksgiving selection right now. I’m so happy to see that, as so many stores these days give Thanksgiving the cold shoulder in favor of Christmas. What is that?! Another thing I love is that they offer versatile pieces that can be used all year round. I’m all for that concept. I bought special Thanksgiving dishes, oh about 5 years ago now, because I thought we’d use them every year for Friendsgiving. We’ve used them….once. Yep. I always find myself going back to the basics and then changing it up by adding fun and whimsical decor. Keeps things spicy that way 😉

one | two | three | four | five | six
seven | eight | nine | ten | eleven | twelve
These were just a few of my favorites from Crate and Barrel! And as you can see they don’t scream fall or thanksgiving, but just give a subtle, welcome hint. AND you could easily use these pieces for any occasion. Total score. So…the decor is planned and the table is set, now let’s bring on the food!
I used this gorgeous inspiration pic and recreated the look. So instead of #FiveforFifty it’s actually seven items for $50 or less 😉 Enjoy!
Fall is my favorite season and it enjoy it to the fullest, I like to create a bucket list of things to do. Most of the items can be done for little to no dolla-dolla bills and you will be spending lots of time with your friends and family. Just how I like it! I started compiling a list of my favorite fall activities after realizing how successful our holiday advent calendar was during December. I figured why not priorities some fun fall activities as well?!
And last but not least everyone’s favorite posts of 2016! There’s definitely some goodies all up in here. Have fun!
We just got our Christmas cards from Minted to mail out and I wanted to share them with you! Last year we took our family photos at our cabin in Tahoe and we loved how the pictures turned out, so we decided to take them there again this year. I found a local Tahoe photographer, Brandi at Indigo Photography, to work with and she made the session so easy and fun. We took the pics at our annual friendsgiving weekend and so she was able to take our pics and some of our friend’s pictures as well. Win, win!
We went with Minted again to print our holiday cards because of their amazing selection of designs. There are so many great looking designs to choose from and they’re all fully customizable. For instance, if there a card design that you like and it says “Merry Christmas”, you can change it to say “Happy Holidays”. Easy peasy. Also another thing about Minted that I love is that I can have them print out all of the envelope addresses for me. Perfect way to make that pretty card complete is with a matching, just as pretty, printed envelope in a matching style. I used their concierge service last year and I’ll never go back! Oh and did I mention? We got matching STAMPS too?! You can’t get much better than that, right? Minted has thought of it all.
Here are our cards and some of our favorites pictures from our photo session with Brandi:
This time of year, I often find myself wandering the grocery store looking for a last minute gift or bottle of wine before a party. Well not this season! With these tasteful gifts under $20 a pop, I’ll be stocking up!
