Halloween is just around the corner. I have to admit I’m not the best at getting my home “fall ready” but I do love jumping aboard the Halloween train. This year the kids were all about Harry Potter – I love it! So we decided to go all out with a Harry Potter themed entryway. I partnered with World Market on the post because of their huge selection of Halloween decor and goodies – Not only do they have all types of Halloween decor for the inside and out, they even have Halloween food and beverages. Way to make it easy for us World Market!

World Market also has a Friends & Family sale going on right now! You can save an extra 30% off on almost everything and you also get free shipping with orders $200 or more with the code: FAMFRIENDS.
Dementors | Broom | Tablecloth | Cauldron | Bowl | Cloche | Butter Beer | Candelabra | Gold Coins | Floating Candles | Snitch | Owl | Candle Holder | Jelly Beans | Wolf Rug | Black Candles
I set up a skinny console table on one side of the entryway to display everything. This tablecloth draped perfectly over it. I also hung the battery-powered candles above it. The cauldron makes the perfect candy bowl, but for now I used it to hold the “butter beer“. I also used a large ball of chocolate to create a snitch, by tapping some white cardboard wings onto it.
On the other side of the entryway hang the “dementors” and this fun light-up broom. So fitting, right?
On the screen door I projected a moving portrait, like the ones that stand guard in the Hogwart’s dormitories in the book. This AtmosFX Halloween projection kit was the perfect solution. It comes with all sorts of projections as well. I might have to do some flying ghosts in the main window as well! This particular animation is from their “Unliving Portraits” collection. Here’s a video of what it looks like:

Everything looks brilliant! Thank you for all the ideas. Did the moving portrait come with the projector? Or is that something you purchased separately on the Atmos website?

Thanks so much Shannon! Great question! The portrait was from their “Unliving Portraits” collection which came separately: https://atmosfx.com/collections/decorations/products/unliving-portraits 🙂
