Monster Machines 1 and 2. |
Monster Machine leaking… |
Having to deal with this every morning. |
Oh the mess, especially with TILED (not solid surface) countertops. *Sigh* |
More leaking….’nuff said |
As for the Cuisinart Espresso machine? Gah, what a monster this thing is. Not only did I miss the convenience of single serve, since the Mr needs his caffeine and I’m all about my decaf right now, but our espresso machine is large, messy and a big pain in the butt. Not long after we got it, every time I used the steamer wand for frothy milk it would dump watery milk all over the counter for 10 minutes afterwards. Now it leaks water and coffee on our counter as well. Not only do we have this mondo machine on our counter, but we also have a coffee bean grinder as well. And let me say it’s really annoying to have to empty out the Mr’s coffee beans for my decaf beans to get fresh grinds. I seriously debated getting a SECOND bean grinder just for my decaf beans π Needless to say I’m over it. Way over it.
I’ve been lusting after a Nespresso for a long, long time. Guess what? Nespresso was listening! They sent me the brand new UMilk model and what a beaut it is. It’s so petite and pretty on my counter. Ah, I love it so. The sleek design is adorable and is such a contrast to all of the bulk that was there before. After I first set it up, the Mr commented on how empty the counter was. I responded by saying “Isn’t that a good thing?!”.
I love that this little machine makes such a difference in my morning routine. I love the cute little colored espresso capsules and the super easy, touch-of-a-button milk frother. How did it take me this long to get here, Nespresso? Thank you for coming into my life, especially with a newborn (and sleepless nights) right around the corner. Might have to make that switch from decaf to regular espresso sooner than expected π
Here’s the pretty in its place of honor. |

Oh and as for my love of pumpkin spiced lattes? Can’t wait to try this recipe out! What about you guys? Any diehard Nespresso fans out there? What are your favorite flavors and do you make anything fun with your espresso?

I just got an Nespresso…. LUV LUV LUV it. The kids love to have their milk foamed too. Any way to get them to drink more milk is great!

That's what I was thinking too! Who doesn't love warm frothy milk? π

I was hoping to get to the end and have a giveaway. Are you listening Nespresso???
When my 6 year old Keurig died last year and all the online fixes didn't work, I realized it was time to grow up and get an espresso machine. I did a ton of research and knowing I wouldn't be roasting my own beans, Nespresso machines won. They have great ratings!
But, they are simply out of my budget. I'd love to get one someday. For now I'm a Toddy cold brew girl and love that but…. someday.

Oh I would love to do a giveaway for a Nespresso! I'll try and work on that π

I had the same exact Cuisinart espresso maker, that did the same exact leak and finally died last year (and I was ALWAYS cleaning up coffee grounds on the counter, the floor). I got my Nespresso pixie last year and have never looked back. I don't even have the frothy attachment, just add half and half to the finish lungo shot. Yum.
Reichel Broussard says
Too funny about the Cuisinart. I seriously don't know why I kept that thing around so long, ha!

WE discovered Nespresso while staying in Paris, it was in our apartment, it quickly became a favorite and then an addiction. When got back to the states we ordered one and I have been singing it's praises ever since. My fav. flavor is Volluto, mild, rich, mellow. LOVE I make lattes all the time with mine. You arare going to love it!!!
Reichel Broussard says
Once you go Nespresso, you can't go back! π

I noticed in the one photo it looks as if you've taken off that bottom sticky-outy part where the cup sits. Am I seeing that right Is it removal so I can use my favorite taller cups? And does it fit k-cups or are the nespresso cups a different size?
Reichel Broussard says
Yes! It's connected by just a magnet, so you can use taller cups. Pretty cool π

Wow, that's a beauty! I've been saving for an espresso machine. I'm jelly…just a little π P.S. I'm with ya with the pumpkin lattes. I'm addicted to them during this time of year. Well actually all things pumpkin!
Reichel Broussard says
Nespresso is so worth saving for π

Got mine a year ago and have never been happier!!!
I rarely if ever buy a coffee anymore… it's simply the best!
Have you been to the boutique store in the city yet?
Amazing!!!
Miss you my friend, are you pregnant again???
Where does the time go?
Reichel Broussard says
Yes, my due date is tomorrow! π I haven't been to the boutique yet, but it sounds like I'll have to make a trip soon! How are you? I loved following along your backyard reno. It's just perfect!

I need. And need now. My "drink" is a grande (currently half caff) 2 pump vanilla soy latte… I'll get one PSL and one Peppermint Mocha when they first come out, then I always go back. But yeah, the husband is never too pleased with my $5 purchases, even though I try to do it sparingly… and he drinks beer, pricy beer so I win that argument.
I really haven't looked into these much, but now I'm convinced it's the perfect thing to complete my life. :::off to research:::
Reichel Broussard says
Ha! That's a good point about the pricey beer! My husband does the same thing, I could totally have used that as leverage. Oh well, I'll file that away for future reference π hahaha
