Ranch House Redo | The Master Bath Part 1

We painted the master bath at the same time we did the front bathroom. It was a pretty vibrant shade of periwinkle, which wasn’t the look I was going for in a master bath. It’s taken a little bit longer to see progress on this room though, I’m still not quite at a happy place with it…yet. Although I think it’s SO much better than where we started 🙂
The Master Bathroom To Do List
In order of priority.
  • Paint walls & vanity
  • Replace light fixture
  • Replace vanity hardware
  • Replace mirror
  • Update medicine cabinet…somehow
  • Replace bathroom hardware (towel bars, hooks, switch plates, etc)  Still need to get that towel ring and I’m still hunting for the perfect brass hooks for our towels.
  • Replace faucet I think I want to go brassy/gold with this…
  • Replace shower head
  • Replace flooring*
  • Replace vanity*
* This will not be happening now, or anytime too soon. Basically part of my wish-list for the house 😉

Big change!

It’s definitely coming along. I love how the navy turned out on the vanity. And for those of you wondering, the walls are Benjamin Moore’s Decorators White (same as the front bath walls).

Looking so good! I especially love that art piece and navy accents! Pretty.

does this room have natural light? I can't quite tell … but it looks very similar to our master bath otherwise. I've been dreaming of going dark on our vanity, but am concerned it'll make the room feel teenier than it already does! but what you've done is SO nice and doesn't feel tight at all. hmmm … might have to rethink my whole plan. 🙂

There's one small window in the shower area that doesn't give off much light. The cabinets, though dark, are quite the statement, so I don't mind it being dark. The light fixture gives off PLENTY of enough light, lol. I'd say go for it!

It looks great!! I would like to redo our main bathroom that we kind of threw together 5 years ago. Could you put a canvas artwork over the door of the medicine cabinet to disguise it??

That's exactly what I was thinking about doing. The logistics are another matter…how to attach with out damaging. Also I'd have to build a custom canvas I think…Still working on the details. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted as soon as I figure it out!

The blue rug is wonderful, what is the source for it? I see sources for all the other things, not that. Thanks

Thanks! I love it too, I found it at a local flea market for $35!

I'd love to know more about that rug, where did you get it?

It's vintage from a flea market.

So cool! Love the big change with minimal expense. Question: where did you get the match holder (& matches)? Love the look! Thanks 🙂

They're from Hudson Grace, a local store in San Francisco. Aren't they adorable?
