I started off with a cute, little, unfinished birdhouse…
And added a pop of pink 😉
Voila!
A cute little addition to the wilderness that we call a backyard!
Isn’t it adorable?
Supplies Used:
Unfinished birdhouse
Pantone Paint in Honeysuckle from Lowe’s
A sample of white-ish Valspar Paint from Lowe’s
Frog Tape from Lowe’s
A little “mini” paintbrush also from Lowe’s
As a part of the Lowe’s Creative Ideas Network I received a giftcard enabling me to purchase all of the supplies from Lowe’s you see listed in this post. First of all, big thanks goes out to Lowe’s for making this little update possible! I’m a part of the Lowe’s Creative Ideas Network and they generously offered to give me $500 to spend at Lowe’s for the bathroom update. Pretty awesome-sauce I must say! Okay here’s where it gets a little sticky…See that linoleum in the corner near the toilet? It’s covering the original tile floor. The family that lived her before us tried to no avail to remove it. Definitely HIGH on the priority list!
Paint walls
Replace shower curtain rod
Update lighting fixtures – 1/2 done replaced glass shades
Okay, I’ve found some more streamlined, square glass shades from Lowe’s, they’re not on the website it looks like. I’m thinking I might want to replace the fixtures as well because they’re so “aged”, we’ll see.
Replace shower curtains
New Bath Rug
Replace shower head (?)
What’s not to love about a rainshower head? We got this lovely from Lowe’s, but haven’t installed it yet. Still debating…it’s pretty, but the shower head we have works great it’s just not very pretty (see pic above).
Replace loose toilet seat
I used a glue gun to glue pinecones to ribbons and tied them to the backs of chairs. |
I used striped ribbon and fabric (from Ikea) I already owned to add a modern touch to my traditional dishware. |
Tying the striped ribbons onto the silverware was a fun touch. |
I bought a bag of typical holiday potpourri (with pinecones, artichokes and pears) and spray-painted them bronze. |
The dark wooden bowls, candlesticks & cake stand were all left over from my wedding. |
Hydrangeas are the perfect flower all year round. |
The tablecloth was just painter’s dropcloth from Lowe’s! |
More bronzed pinecones and striped ribbon adorn the buffet. |
I loved these fake pillar candles from Lowe’s, they had flicker to them, just like a real flame…but a safer alternative with curious lil’ ones at home 😉 |
