I’ve been thinking about the future of this blog lately. As a full time blogger one of my requirements is to “always be growing” and the big question is, how? I’m sure you all have heard by now “blogging is dead“. More people are getting what they want from Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram etc – it’s faster and more direct. Will blogs really go by the wayside like everyone is predicting? I’m not so sure. While I know commenting is dead and subscriber lists are on the decline, I know that people still refer to blogs…when they need something.
So I want to make this blog useful for all of you when you do visit. I’ve debated on forgoing the blog layout all together and going for almost a retail-like website where my high/low finds are categorized just like you’d shop on Pottery Barn for example. Or I’ve thought about staying a blog but instead of doing daily high/low product finds doing more Room Redos. I’ve also thought about offering more how-to’s. I could do business related topics: how to start your own e-design business or how to run a blog that actually makes money or more design related topics (how to style an office or how to layout a living room etc).
I’ve also been thinking about all of the different social media outlets out there. In the past my biggest audience has always been on Pinterest and Facebook. But with Facebook algorithms always changing instead of reaching 20% of my followers on Facebook only 2% see my posts – which is ridiculous really. So I’ve started focusing on my audiences on Instagram and Twitter more.
Anyways, I’ve rambled enough for now 😉 Can you guys help me out a bit? What would you like to see more or less of? It’s survey time! It’s super quick and I appreciate each and everyone of you that takes the time to help me figure out the latest direction Copy Cat Chic will take!
And just so this post isn’t totally void of eye candy, I’ve interspersed a few latest pins I’m loving from my Pinterest account.
