A couple of weeks ago you might have noticed (if you follow me on Instagram) that we took a little trip to Mesa, Arizona. I actually won a contest (I never win anything, so I was pretty excited!!!) sponsored by Allegiant Airlines and Visit Mesa for a free mini vacation. And now I’m working with Allegiant Airlines to offer one of my lucky readers 2 ticket vouchers for flights anywhere that Allegiant flies. Pretty awesome right? Use the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of the post to enter!
If you win, may I recommend Mesa? The Mr and I had a lot of fun there. And the highlight of our trip had to be the food. There’s some amazing eateries there I was happy to learn. Even for a picky (Vegetarian/Vegan-ish) eater like me 😉
Country Toast at Postino Wine Cafe
Veggie Tacos from the Joyride Taco House

Vegan chocolate cupcake with Marshmallow frosting from The Coffee Shop. I’m not usually a fan of marshmallow frosting, but this was subtle, fluffy and smooth. By the way, The Coffee Shop was on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars twice!
The delicious Salt River Bar at Liberty Market. A delicious, carmel, peanut butter, chocolate bar on a saltine cracker base with a sprinkling of sea salt on top!
Frost Gelato is my new favorite frozen dessert! It’s amazing luscious gelato made with 3% milk instead of cream, raw eggs and butter. It has more flavor than ice cream!

We also got to go olive oil tasting at Queen Creek Olive Mill and peach picking at Schnepf Farms. Conrad was a big fan 😉

A couple on non-food related activities we did:
We toured the Museum of Natural History, created glass tiles at the Mesa Arts Center and took a hike in Usery park.
One of the highlights of the trip: we toured an urban farm community called Agritopia. This place is amazing. It’s a close-knit housing community built around an all organic 15-acre farm. We need more places like this. Such a great idea!
All activities were included in my trip courtesy of Visit Mesa.
Now enter to win 2 free plane tickets courtesy of Allegiant below! To view where Allegiant flies to and from you can check out their interactive route map here. (I might have to go to Hawaii next!) If you’ve never heard of Allegiant Airlines before they offer some of the cheapest airfare out there. Now depending on what you’re expecting it can be a good or a bad thing. The reason Allegiant can offer you such amazingly cheap prices? There are no unnecessary frills. You have to purchase drinks and snacks on the plane and there can be some luggage fees if you aren’t careful. This is actually perfect for someone like me. I like to travel light (by not checking bags) and I’d prefer to eat my own snacks on board instead of airplane food 😉 Allegiant is very upfront about their costs and what services they do ( and don’t) provide so just do your homework beforehand and you won’t get charged any extras fees.
