My Equestrian Estate

I thought it might be fun to take a little tour through fantasy land :) I'm going to share a little fact with you guys that you probably didn't know. I am a full blown, no doubts about it, hay in my hair...horse lover. I have been since I was a little girl. I think it started when I was four and my Mom had pony rides at my birthday party. I was a goner.
Back to the present though, I'd like to officially introduce you to my gorgeous, superstar of a horse, Cristof. He really knows how to put a girl to shame ;) Here's a picture of us last summer.

Cristof is a Friesian, yep, just like Martha Stewart's horses. And I'm sure you've all seen pictures of the amazing stables she created for her horses...Now, I'd like to give you a tour of what our "future" home will be. Won't you join me? ;)

I LOVE the dream house and WHAT a fantastic idea for all those ribbons...hmmm, I may have to dig some of my ribbon archives to do that!! LOVE this post!!! :)
Also, if you dont mind, I would love to link this posting my horse blog for my readers to see. I know they die over it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture of you and your horse!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful horse!! I'm an avid horse lover myself. My friend has a stable full of Friesians- they are magical storybook creatures.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Your horse is drop dead gorgeous. I love your style & your visions for your future house. Very inspirational. The picture of the bookcase & all the books on the table was to die for. I am a huge book worm & am always looking for stylish way to store.display my books.
ReplyDeleteI too am a horse lover. I don't have a horse yet, but one day I will have land, a fabulous home and a barn and stables for my horses! Gorgeous horse baby!
ReplyDeleteLove the kitchen photo and your horse is absolutely exquisite.
ReplyDeleteYour horse is beautiful and majestic.
ReplyDeleteI have to confess I'm a horse addict as well. I love every single pict! I've been struggling with how to marry my equestrian, hunt country style with my love modern. But the picture of the stairway nailed it. Christof is beautiful and no doubt a daily inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWOW R, This was a fabulous post. Your horse is GORGEOUS and I love the water shot. Is the lab yours too? Adorable shot. Hope you framed it. These pics. were SO very inspiring to me, as I see so much "white" going on these days, and yet, these seemed to show how classic black still can be. Just beautiful. Thanks again for sharing!!! ~M.
ReplyDeleteFriesian...I'm so jealous. I've always loved the breed. I own a couple of Chincoteague Ponies now, along with my retired 16.3 hand dressage horse, Niatross - who oddly enough arrived as a giant out of his pony mom.
ReplyDeleteI think you should post more pictures of your boys on the blog...so pretty. I bet you're hoping for a girl so she can share your love of equines.
Ok-- love your style! I'm OBESSSED with Tommy Smythe's kitchen and looking to remodel my kitchen with my end goal being his kitchen. I'm currently on the search for the flooring. Do you think its slate? tile? Any leads would be great! I can't seem to find that size, color etc etc.
ReplyDeleteYour photos should definitely be framed! Beautiful. Also, love your dream house. Totally my style--I could move right in!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of you, your horse, and dog.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the tour of the future house.
The pictures are great.
The first shot is AMAZING! Please tell your photographer I plan to steal his composition at some point in the future. Also wondering about the framed ribbons in the dining room, are those your ribbons that you framed, or did you purchase it someplace already framed? Also and avid horse lover here...check out my blog www.hoosiermama.com and search "horse" tags. I had to euthanize my beloved mare last winter.
ReplyDeleteCristof is stunning.

Whoops, looks like you're blog is private! lol send me an invite! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah- I got that ribbon shadowbox at a fleamarket, so unfort the ribbons aren't mine. Aren't they gorgeous? They're all from the 60's too! I've been debating about adding mine to it, but I'm thinking I shouldn't "taint" the purity of it ;) lol. Can't wait to check out your blog! It's so hard to find a good horsie blog these days!
ReplyDeleteI want you to know that I look at this post almost daily -still love it!

Reichel~ Sorry about the "private" setting....I locked it for a bit but it's wide open now!
ReplyDeletePerhaps do some browsing while you await the new bundle. I know how it feels. My due date came and went. It's like the morning of my due date I just expected the contractions to start. Right?...No. She came two days later though :) So, here's the address again www.hoosiermama.com
It's not totally horses...but there are quite a few horse posts. Keep percolating that baby! She'll show up sooner or later!
What a great fleamarket find! I can't say I've ever found anything that cool in Indiana :(
ReplyDeleteWe have some great vintage shops...just haven't stumbled onto much in the equine department. Maybe you should put your ribbons in another shadowbox to hang in the tack room of your future equine estate :) Totally!
p.s. I posted earlier that I unlocked my blog. www.hoosiermama.com
Your spare moments to read will be few and far between very soon :)
