I wanted to start a new mini-series on the blog. Good news for all of you fashion-for-less fans out there. I’ll be posting it under the life category. The new series is called Mama Style and it’s basically my attempt at motivating myself to not wear my pajamas all day. SO easy to do when you work from home, let me tell you.  Not just the work-at-home part contributes to this though, being a new Mom does as well. It’s hard finding cute and comfortable clothes that work well for the post-pregnancy body. So I’m going to share what works best for me. Feel free to chime in with your own tips!


Kohl's



The first store I’m going to cover in my Mama Style Mini Series is Kohl’s. Have you guys seen their selection lately? Lots of stylish options to choose from for such  great prices. I especially love the LC Lauren Conrad collection. Lauren designs such adorable pieces with just the right amount of modest.


ONE
A cute dress and flats makes you look put-together and it’s super easy. A dress makes a great uniform, since it’s one piece of clothing. No need to pick out a top and bottom. All you need is one cute and comfy dress and layering on top of it. I love this black and white striped dress from Kohl’s because the black and white stripes create the perfect base and pretty much go with anything. The fabric has just the right amount of structure, so it keeps its shape, while also being stretchy. Bonus points for the pockets too! I paired it with bright pink flats and a matching necklace to add some fun. Oh and the gold belt is perfect for a little sparkle.

TWO
Skinny jeans and flowy tops. Oh so required. Loose-fitting tops help hide the pregnancy pudding (as my old yoga instructor used to call it). And skinny jeans help keep that slimmer profile so you’re not walking around looking like a bag lady 😉 Sorry for the lame awkward face I’m doing here, not used to taking these outfit shots! Oh and give me a nice pair of flip flops any day and I’ll be a happy Mama.

THREE
Oh the joy of a comfortable maxi dress. I love the long, flowing, forgiving length of this dress. Also the different color top makes it look like a shirt and skirt combo, which is fun. I have my trusty diaper bag with me here and a wide brimmed sun hat which I can crumple up and stuff in my bag.
