Designer Tech | The Samsung Frame TV Review
It’s been a little while since I’ve posted a living room update over here. The wall you can’t see is actually where my desk used to be. We’ve mixed things up recently and I’m pretty excited about the changes.
I loved having my desk and being able to work in the living room. It’s such a beautiful, airy space, but it got pretty old trying to keep my desk functional AND looking pretty all the time. I figured it was time to relocate it elsewhere. I missed having this corner tied into the rest of the living room.
When I was offered a chance to receive the latest Samsung Frame TV I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to rework this corner. We had only one TV, hidden away in our family room, and I’ve always hesitated adding a TV to the living room. I didn’t want a huge, black screen taking away from the room’s character. The Frame solved that dilemma perfectly – I can have a TV in the room without it looking obvious. In fact, it looks like a piece of art, and was designed in collaboration with designer Yves Béhar to be exactly that. It is the perfect accessory for the space.

Things are slowly transitioning to fall over here, but the weather has been so sunny, it’s kind of hard to believe it. My Home | The Downstairs Bathroom
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Delta Brand. The opinions and text are all mine.
So let’s take a little trip downstairs shall we? I really haven’t showed you guys much of the downstairs yet, I know. It’s similar to the bowels of the ship, if you catch my drift. The laundry room is down there, as well as a man cave and play room area. As you can imagine, it’s pretty attractive. That dog will have its day, don’t worry. But for today, let me show you our downstairs bathroom.
It’s about twice the size of the upstairs bathroom and gets probably a third of the use. I think the reason for that was that it really used to remind me of a dungeon. It’s basement level, so there’s already not a huge amount of light, but combined with the super dark stained concrete floor AND the green and burgundy walls? Well it wasn’t really a winning combo, check out the before pictures at the bottom of the post.
Designer Tech | Eero WiFi System
We’ve had a long time struggle with our wireless connection over here. Our house isn’t huge, but there’s just something about the placement of our modem and router that makes it give us spotty coverage everywhere else. Okay, okay…our set up is in our basement (not our choice!). It was there when we moved in and so we just kept it there to keep things easy. Well, it’s not hard to imagine, but we get awful coverage on the 2nd floor. Especially in the master bedroom. This is such a damper on my nighttime youtube binging, hello! My husband even tried moving the whole set up out of the basement and still no dice. We’re guessing the old school iron tub in the upstairs is serving as a damper? Who knows…all I know is that watching the little buffer wheel go round-and-round was driving me nutty. About six months ago it got so bad that we replaced our router and modem and pretty much our whole set-up hoping for better service. Nope. Oh yeah and we tried switching services too. Yeah…double nope.
Home Trends | Faux Foliage
I’m all over ways of making life easier (and better!). I went through a crazy plant buying spree a couple of months ago and it was amazing. BUT can I just tell you how much upkeep it all is? Watering, dusting, feeding, re-potting. Not to mention the infestation of gnats I got from a palm I bought. Yikes. So lately, I’ve been staring longingly at faux plants and greenery. Faux greens are such a controversial subject in the home design world. What do you guys think? Are you for? Or against? Personally? I like a good mix of both. In the past I’ve been solidly against fake plants, but there’s a new crop of great faux greens on the market and it makes ALL the difference. I found a few favorites over at World Market, so I thought it would be the perfect time to work in a Home Trends post for you all!

I’ve been a huge nesting kick lately, kon maring everything in site. I think it’s my idea of lightening up for summer. One of my main tasks? Clearing out and organizing the kitchen. As you know, my kitchen is pretty small, so our cabinets get crammed pretty fast and easily. I culled all of the useless kitchen tools that we no longer use, as well as the old and just downright ugly. Only keep what you love, right? Thankfully World Market makes it super easy (and affordable) to outfit the kitchen with good looking and reasonably priced kitchen essentials. As you can tell from my picks, I’m all about white and wood. Nothing better for getting your kitchen looking warm and clean!

Along the lines of #4, this is also such a great choice for a gift. This one is a 3-D map of San Francisco, but there are a ton of other cities available. Makes a great statement piece and it’s quality, so you know you’ll have it around for a long time.
Minimalist Home Office Organization
This post is in partnership with PayPal.
I’ve been working from home exclusively since 2009. You may be shocked to hear that I just recently created myself a home office. Before, I used to use my laptop while sitting on the couch. I’ve come to the realization that when working, I always want to be where the action is, in the heart of the home, aka the living room. Problem is, that doesn’t always lend itself to efficient home office organization!
When I upgraded from a laptop to my new iMac, I needed a dedicated desk. So I set out to create an office space that I would actually use – in a corner of our living room. Now, for most people, this spot wouldn’t be their first choice for an office location. I can’t blame them! Who wants a bunch of tech sitting as a focal point in their living room? Far be it for me to pass up a challenge! So, after a ton of internet scouring (you know me) and trial and error, I’m proud to share my best finds, tips and tricks for home office organization that keeps the clutter at bay and functions just as well as it looks!
