A few weeks ago during spring break, we decided to do a very stereotypical thing for spring break…We went to Florida! Where did we go in Florida? No, not Disney World, no, not Miami, no, not Ft. Lauderdale. We went to Rosemary Beach. Now you may have that blank look that most of our friends gave us when announcing our destination. Or if you’re from the Mid-West or the South you’ll know EXACTLY where. Rosemary Beach is a lesser known beach destination on the gulf coast (commonly referred to as the Emerald Coast) or inner coast of Florida. There’s a tiny little strip of a highway called 30A rolling through a bunch of gorgeous little beach towns each with their own distinct personality. We mostly spent our time in Rosemary beach and it’s gorgeous cousin, Alys Beach, just a hop, skip and a bike ride down 30A.
Spring break this year ended with Easter for us, so we spent that holiday in Rosemary Beach as well. Nothing makes a holiday a hit with the kids more than 1,500 eggs filled with candy, wouldn’t you say? Also super fun when you spend it with everyone’s favorite friendly witch 😉 And no, we didn’t actually spend Easter with her, but still a fun story.
Now for the fun details of the trip. Where in Rosemary Beach did we stay? Well, as most of us quickly learn, when traveling with children, you pretty much always get more bang for your buck when you stay in a vacation rental. And after an exhaustive search I finally found the perfect spot on Vacasa. You’d be surprised at how picky I am when it comes to vacation rentals. It has to be the right location, the right PRICE, and of course, it has to look the part too, ya know? Luckily this little gem on Vacasa was available and waiting for us.
The Vacasa team was amazingly helpful as well. There was a sweet little welcome gift for us when we checked in and a super friendly concierge available by phone to answer questions or help out when we needed it.
Now for the star of the show, the BEACH. Oh ma gawd, we don’t have white sand like that in California. It was like sugar and I kept oohing and ahhing over it the whole trip #truth In fact it was just so stunning that I decided we just had to get some family photos taken! Got those Christmas card pics taken care of! HA!
Also random beachy reading recommendation. This is the first book in a whole series set in Rosemary Beach. I always love reading books that are set in my current vacay locale…it’s like a little cherry on top!
What’s great about this area is that there is just so much to do within biking distance. In fact there was a bike shop in the same building as our unit and we rented bikes the first day we were there and returned them on the last day of our trip. No car needed!
Here’s a breakdown of our whole itinerary for you, so you can enjoy some of our favorites! And if you missed it live, be sure to check out my Instagram “30A” highlights for some behind the scenes!

So beautiful! Thanks for the info on 30a. Going to check out your other post as well since we are planning a trip there this Summer. Was it a quick walk to the beach from this rental?
