My kids and I saw the new Peter Rabbit last Sunday. It was cute, feel good kid’s movie with shenanigans that reminded me of old-school cartoons. The kids loved it, so when World Market asked if I’d be interested in showcasing their new Peter Rabbit collection, I thought it would be fun to set up an easy, simple Easter-style brunch. I like to keep presentation and entertaining relatively simple. It’ a lot of work cooking, cleaning, decorating, etc! Why not keep things clean, appealing and functional? That’s my motto.
So I came up with this cute, minimalist table setup for the kid’s and a couple of their neighbor-friends.
The decor was kept simple with lots of natural wood touches with hints of dusty green. I used succulents instead of cut flowers, since we can use them around the house afterwards. I kept everything pretty neutral using our everyday white dishes and a few white serving pieces. The natural wood lazy susan is a recent addition to the dining table and it makes family meals SO much easier and looks chic to boot!
I kept the menu simple as well. I made tasty homestyle mac and cheese with the Peter Rabbit pasta. The kids loved trying to figure out what the shapes were as they ate. I also made some blueberry muffins as a sweet treat. For veggies I served simple butter sautéed carrots.
What’s an Easter brunch with out some Easter goodies? I like to reuse these natural, wooden eggs year after year to put treats in and this time I stuffed them with milk chocolate eggs. I also handed out these fun Peter Rabbit candied sunflower seeds shaped like a carrot. And of course, each of the kids got small Peter Rabbit storybook!
