A Chic Laundry Room Design with LG

Next project alert! I’m starting to plan out our laundry room refresh. It has great bones, but could definitely use a little help in the looks department. Also, when we moved in we had washer and dryer relics leftover from the early 90’s. I was pretty impressed they lasted this long. Unfortunately the washer didn’t quiiiiite make it. The first time we tried using it, it spewed out noxious smoke and made the loudest high pitch squealing noise. Great first impression on the neighbors, let me tell ya.

So first things first, we bought ourselves a new washer. What kind of washer did we buy? An front loading beauty of a washing machine by LG Electronics. We purchased this LG High Efficiency Front Loading Washer and now LG is sending me the matching LG SideKick™ to go along with it. Have you heard of the LG SideKick? It’s a smaller washer that goes underneath your current one. And that means…yes, that I’ll now have two washers!!! Now I don’t have to wait for laundry day to tackle those small lingering loads! The LG SideKick is going to be perfect those unmentionables…or even those super dirty items that you just need to wash separately. The technology kind of blows my mind really. Most front-load LG washers from as far back as 2009 are compatible with the LG SideKick. Pretty cool, right?

As you can see, we’re going to need to do some painting. I’m going to paint the trim a nice warm gray. I’d also like to add some shelving over the sink for open storage. And something has to be done about that wonky clothing rod. It’s a great idea in theory, but I think we can make it a look little more distinguished don’t you? 😉 Let’s see…a new rug and some hardware switcheroo and we’ll be ready to go! I might (if I’m feeling ambitious) tackle the floor too, we’ll see! Here’s my design board for the project:
