We decided to take some family pics a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our new city 😉 It was super fun to documenting this new change in our lives. We missed living in Oakland and it’s good to be back! We thought it would be fun to capture pictures of a family outing while we were out and about enjoying our new town.
We’ve been getting more into biking lately. The kids are getting old enough to start riding their own bikes now. But the Mr didn’t have a bike and neither did Conrad, so that made family bike outings a little difficult. Our new home is about a mile away from our local farmer’s market, shops and restaurants, not quite close enough for walking with a toddler, but perfect for biking. So after we moved, I thought it was high time to get the whole family some bikes. I love my bike from Public, it’s about five years old now and I still love it as much as the day I got it. I figured why not outfit the whole family with matching Public bikes? Since I was such a huge fan of my bike I knew the rest of the family would love ’em too. AND they’re also a local company, yay for #shoplocal 😉
The Mr picked out this sleek looking thing, R16. When I went to pick it up from the store and load it into our car, I couldn’t believe how light it was. I’m kind of jealous how awesome his bike is actually 😉
We got Conrad the adorable balance bike model, Mini V, in orange. So perfect for him. He loves it, but it’s still slightly too big for him, so he still uses the Yepp seat sometimes.
Arden has the Sprout V1 in royal blue. I love that Conrad can use it when he’s older too. Public bikes are so unisex with their bright, classic colors.
And my bike, the bike that started it all, is the C7, their classic Dutch-style bike. I have it in white, of course 😉 It’s the perfect family outing bike. One of my absolute fave things? You shift the gears just by rotating the handle grip. So cool and easy.
We try to take family pics once or twice a year, once in the winter – holiday cards 😉 And once in the warmer months. This time around we had my friend Kate from Jetkat Photo take our pictures. Let me tell you, she had her hands full. She handled it like the pro, she is and managed to get some SUPER cute photos of all of us. Yay!

I love family bike rides. My husband can’t ride a bike because of how tall he is, so it’s just me and the kids, but it’s so much fun.
