I was thrilled when Chicago-based designer Summer Thornton popped up recently in my Pinterest feed. Her spaces are fundamentally traditional but spiced up with bold color pairings and eclectic finishes. This living area is as formal and symmetrical as they come, yet the contemporary tables and casual cowhide keep things from feeling too stiff. You’d think velvet pillows and a brass picture light would break the bank, but these touches are just as affordable as they are luxurious.
I’m ecstatic that this gorgeous space clocked in under budget. You know the best part about the chic and incredibly affordable gray sofa? It’s slipcovered for easy cleaning. Another worry-free piece is the waxed cement coffee table, which will surely stand the test of time. My only regret with this redo is that we can’t see the console table, but thankfully you’ve got budget to spare if one strikes your fancy. Happy shopping!
