Ranch House Redo | The Front Bathroom Part 1

We’ve lived in our new home for almost two months now. We haven’t done much updating yet, mostly because I like to take my time and do things slow. I find it hard to update a house before you’ve actually lived in it, because you have to learn each other’s ways first! I’m finally finding the design direction I want to go with in this home and it’s a different path than I’m used to, that’s for sure.
We’ve decided to start with the front bathroom. The house has two bathrooms, the front bath and the master bath. So this will be the bathroom that guests will be using. AND this will be Arden’s bathroom as well. I wanted it to be fun for her with out being “kiddy” so no pink ballerinas will be adorning these walls! I want our guests to be able to enjoy it as well. Well, as much as one can enjoy a bathroom 😉 So I’ve come up with a playful, yet modern mix. Can’t wait to see how it turns out, the painters are coming this Friday!

The Front Bathroom To Do List
In order of priority.
  • Remove textured stickers in bathtub
  • Remove wallpaper
  • Paint walls & vanity
  • Replace light fixture with this one
  • Replace vanity hardware with something more sleek
  • Replace mirror
  • Update medicine cabinet, I’m thinking chalkboard
  • Replace bathroom hardware (faucet, towel bars, hooks, switch plates, etc)
  • Hang shower curtain
  • Paint cultured marble countertop using this method?
  • Update bath to bath and shower combo
  • Replace tile
  • Replace flooring*
  • Replace vanity*

* This will not be happening now, or anytime too soon. Basically part of my wish-list for the house 😉

These pics are totally realistic. I did no tidying whatsoever,
although I probably should have 😉

Love your color combo. It's become my new favorite! Do you have a favorite white wall/white trim combination? Too many shades of white for me to decide 🙁

Thanks Geri! I always use BM Decorators White. It's my tried and true go to white!

There is some kind of Rustoleum product that you can paint over laminate counters — it might work on cultured marble too — might want to check it out!

Oooo, I'll have to check it out. Rustoleum would be A LOT easier I'm thinking 😉

This looks so great! I can't wait to see the finished product! (and ps, that is a pretty tidy bathroom for not tidying in my book:)
