Curtains Complete Me – Finalists!

Announcing the finalists! It was sooo hard to narrow it down, but finally, here are the dozen folks who are in the running for a free Curtainworks makeover!

1. Jackie Hanson
This is my dining room.  This was Thanksgiving last year.  Yep I said it last year! 🙂  All of the furniture was rented.  No furniture, no curtains, nothing,  just a beuatifully stenciled wall that took my boyfriend and I three days to do.  LOL  We would love black velevet drapes to get us started on completing this room.  PLEASE HELP US! 
 

2. Deene Souza
I just bought a brand new house (although it’s old, it’s new to me) and it’s going to need A LOT of curtains, not just one room!  LOL!  So why should you provide ME with new curtains . . . I’m going to need more than one room done so you could have a repeat customer if I like them!  😉  And this is just ONE window.  I’ve got about 40 more windows in the house just like it.  The picture you see is of me going through it for the first time.  I haven’t been back to the house since we bought it, but I know I’m going to need a lot because not one window had curtains!
 

3. Rachel Burns
This is the living room that my husband, my two children and I have gone 3 years without having drapes for, and living in Texas you can imagine how HOT it is with the sun beating down! This is the room that I imagine have the drapes from this picture, in. I’m already fantasizing about this ya’ll! Vote for us! These are the curtains I think would look best, in ivory! What do ya’ll think??

First, thanks for having such a great contest! My name is Tanika and I have been a fan of curtainworks since I have seen it on a few bloggers pages and the prices are to die for!! My husband and I have just bought a house. Majority of the rooms have blinds and I feel needs a little bit more elegance to pull it together. Our living room came with curtains from the previous owner, but its just not doing anything for the room. Currently its empty, but we are in the process of buying furniture. Curtainworks has the most gorgeous grommet sheers called the Othello in silver, that would be perfect in our newly painted gray living room! The windows lead out to our patio, so sheers would be perfect to complement the natural light in the room. I think I deserve to win because it would be great to have something as unique as these curtains and I have developed a passion for design and using things that represent me and my style. Its been a long journey in buying a home, and everything I put into my home I want to be special and represent how far we have come as a couple. Ive rambled long enough, here are my pics. We are the parents of four chidren, we had our latest blessing, a baby girl, in February. Needless to say, being a stay-at-home mommy to four, ages 3 months to 7 years, keeps me too busy to even think about decorating! It would be so wonderful to be able to enjoy a room without having to think about it or shop for it. 
We would greatly appreciate the chance to have curtains in our bedroom!  We moved in our home just over a year ago, and do not believe in piling up debt, so our budget allows for limited amount at a time.  My wonderful father-in-law painted our bedroom, but nothing else has been done.  As you can see we have a tricky door as well (valance?), to the outside patio.  Not sure what to do with it!  Again, thanks so much for the opportunity!  🙂

I just started a new job in a new city and am trying to furnish my new apartment. The process has been overwhelming. My living has a sun room that sits adjacent to the living room. Because the entrance isn’t centered, I want to camouflage it with curtains. I can also use the curtains to close off the room when I have guests. They will appreciate the privacy. I will also add some texture to the room.  (I’ve taken the red chairs out). I would get the Empress Luxe Silk Curtains in Platinum (but I am open to other suggestions)… I’ve been considering them for a while now.

This is such an exciting giveaway! We moved into our home a couple of months ago, and these old curtains were one of the only things that stayed. Although completely functional, they’re quite dingy and old-fashioned, and I think that view requires something a bit more dramatic. I’ve had Curtainworks’ Messina Opulent Velvet Lined Grommet Drape in 120″ on my wishlist for quite some time — that texture (paired with a soft pooling on the ground), would look lovely!

Amazing giveaway.  I’m in…  We seem to have frequent out of state guests, but our guest room just isn’t quite up to par.  The windows have no curtains at all.  I’m not only too busy designing other spaces, but my budget only goes so far in my own home.  Yet, our guests deserve a nice place to rest their heads.   If I could get any curtains for the space, it’d be…  I’m totally willing to take photos and talk about it on my blog!   There are just two windows of the same size in the room (the one you see and one to the right of the bed). I’m going to paint over the blue square behind the bed, so I think curtains in that color would be awesome (Monterey Textured).  I’m also open to cream color.  I would be looking at 108-114 inches in length.  Please help my guests feel more comfortable!  Curtains in the room will definitley motivate me to finish it off!

My husband’s job kept us moving every 1-2 years and for some reason my bedroom was always the last room I would even attempt to decorate (a lot of times it never happened).  Luckily we’re done moving for awhile and I can now focus on this room.  I like to keep a calm peaceful color palette in the master with neutrals and blues.  I think the Marquee Faux Silk Pinch Pleat panels in peacock would be beautiful framing both sides of the bed.
I couldn’t resist throwing in a picture of the one face I can’t say no to, maybe that face will work on you too 🙂

Yes, two years in our new home and we are still living with the ‘temporary’ paper blinds.  Talk about minimal coverage!!  During the earily morning and evenign/night hours, my husband and I have to consciously make it a point to save our neighbors the ‘grief’ by only dressing and undressing in the privacy of the enclosed closet (hello? small, dark space?).  We purchased this house with the intent of expanding our family.  We have found out that our only likely option of obtaining this dream is IVF.  Either assisted or natural, having curtains in this room would provide us the privacy and comfort that only a home can provide.  I am so impressed with www.curtainworks.com because they have an amazing selection of curtain lengths with amazing prices!  It would be a difficult descision, but I would choose either the http://www.curtainworks.com/monterey-textured-lined-grommet-drape.html in white or the http://www.curtainworks.com/monterey-textured-lined-grommet-drape.html in light blue.  But, I would always be open to the suggestions of curtainworks.com or copycatchic.com since they are the experts!

Thanks for the awesome contest.  I think I have the perfect room for a Curtainworks makeover.  First, I will tell you that we just recently moved our family of 5 across the country in February.  While the house we bought fits our family really well, it leaves a lot to be desired in the decorating department.  It’s just a big box begging for some character.   I attached the picture of the room that needs the most help.  It is our large living room.  It is open to the kitchen… so needless to say, we are in there all the time.  We have plans for paint and molding…you can see the test swatches on the wall!    Currently, there are vertical blinds up on the windows (I know!).  While they do the job of keeping out the sun and noisy neighbors, they are not very pretty.  The also made a loud racket when the windows are open since the wind causes them to bang into each other and the wall.   I can handle noise too…I have three boys!!  Since we have beautiful, large 9 ft ceilings , I think the Monterey Textured Lined Grommet panels would be just the ticket!  I think they would look amazing in my room.  I love the 108″ available length!  Thanks again for the great contest.  Good luck everyone.

Hi!  My name is Sherri.  My husband and I, and our three young children live in Cleveland, OH.  Winters here are brutal so when the summer arrives, we need to take full advantage of the weather!  After many renovations, and a lot of sweat equity, we are ready to update the three seasons room that is attached to to side of our home.  After I saw your beautiful curtains on Curtainworks.com, I knew they would be perfect!  I would love to hang panels in this space because it will soften the room as well as add privacy from our neighbors who are so close!  They would really make our summer so much more enjoyable and relaxing.  It would be great to have the Sailcloth Cotton Canvas Grommet Top Panels in Mocha.  Thank you so much for considering us! – Sherri

    The word "drapes" is a verb not a noun. In the words of the great Sister Parrish, curtains are what are hung in a window, not "drapes".

    #3 – gotta support my fellow Texan – the summers here are too hot not to have drapes. Plus that room has a lot of windows and drapes would make a dramatic addition to the decor!

    Note: What a hard contest to vote for!!  So many choices which such good reasonings!  I went for a bedroom since I absolutely hate any light in my room while I am sleeping, and chose Jami's master since it is slept in everynight (opposed to say, a guest room).  4 children?  She could use a good night's sleep!

    So many great choices & everyone has such good reasons for needing new curtains! I went with a master bedroom (since it is slept in every night & I cannot sleep in a room unless it is pitch black) & chose Jami because with 4 children, she could use the good night's sleep!

    Note:  I totally agree.  I know, because I have 4 children.  It's hard to shop or much less bring 4 children with you…A good nights rest everynight would be so needed….
