I hate to admit this, but right now, I’m typing this blog post and eating homemade whipped cream by the spoonful π Pretty prego-licious, I know! Anyways, here’s the latest nursery update for you BOTB folks out there π
The Mr and I took a little trip to our local thrift stores this weekend. And the Mr. spotted the PERFECT rocker. Okay, okay…it might not be the most spectacular looking thing ever…but it is sooo comfortable. It feels like it was made for me. After a bunch of you stressed that I needed to have a comfy rocker, I gave in. Especially when said rocker is only $25. Yes, you read correctly, only $25. Well I have to be honest with you though, the chair itself was only $25, but the professional steam cleaning cost $95! lol. Yes, this is absolutely necessary, I’m a little OCD when it comes to buying used upholstered furniture. I even made the Mr. carry the chair back outside to live after freaking out that it might have bedbugs. It stayed out there for two nights until the steam cleaner came and cleaned the H out of it. And guess what? No bed bugs π It’s now nice and clean for Baby B and me. Yeay!
This chair is so freakin’ comfy I might just have to get it reupholstered for the living room after it has finished its’ job in the nursery.
I also found these fun lacquered boxes for $5 at the Goodwill. They’ve found a home on my desk for now, but originally they’re meant for the nursery. Once I get the shelves bought & set-up they’ll relocate.
Another update! The fabric for the bumper just arrived π I couldn’t be happier, it’s gorgeous!
I also splurged on this beauty on a little trip I made to Anthropologie today. It matches the rocker, perfectly π I had a discount card for 15% off as well as return that went towards it, so it didn’t seem like I was spending as much as I was π

Anthropologie’s Plumage Shade = $108 |
Here’s a print that I usually put up around the house for Thanksgiving time…it might have to migrate to the nursery though. We’ll see, I don’t want to totally overdo it on the peacocks π

I used an almost identical rocker (a hand-me-down from my MIL) for my babies…but it was orange. The boppy rested so well on those arms, so that while nursing, I didn't have to try to balance them up high. I could almost sleep and the chair held the baby in place…it was great!

I hate to be a debbie downer, but you REALLY should reconsider the idea of having bumpers in your crib. I know they make the crib look plush and beautiful, but they are shown to increase the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). The child can roll into them and cause them to suffocate. Please read of up on it here: http://babyproducts.about.com/od/recallsandsafety/a/bumpersafety.htm

I love the peacock blue color! Those prints might be a little much, but I've seen a couple of retro white peacock prints that would really pop against the walls.
