Our front stoop was looking pretty sad and droopy. I hadn’t really done much with it since we moved in, so I figured it was time to give a lil sprucing up for the holidays! It was about time to make a good first impression. My old doormat was in definite need of a replacement and I feel like it’s not the holidays until a wreath is hanging on the front door, am I right? 🙂

My Home | Mudroom Organization with OSH

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve been on a home decorating kick lately. It’s funny, but it always seems to take about a year of living in a house for me to really get inspired on how to furnish and decorate the space. I really like to get to know a house and how we live in it before I know what the home needs, in terms of furniture, changes or decor. Today I’m going to show you our mudroom. It’s a small room right off the entryway and open to the kitchen. When we first moved in, I had grand plans of making it a breakfast nook, but that changed pretty fast. It’s now a major workhorse in our home. One side serves as an extension to our kitchen and the other serves as our mudroom.
Updated Entry with Kirkland’s
With the holidays over and all of the Christmas decor packed away, I’m starting to slowly switch gears. The house felt like it was missing something once all the fun holiday decorations came done. So I’ve starting thinking about moving things around and restyling spaces. One easy place to start with is the front door area. First impressions and all right? It makes sense because having a clean and good looking entry really sets the tone. Well our doorway has been pretty neglected these days, so it was about time we paid it a little attention, don’t you think?
I partnered with Kirkland’s because not only do they have amazing prices on pretty much everything, but their tagline is just perfect for this project: “Your Doorway to Home“. I knew they’d be able to help me out for this quickie revamp without doing too much damage to my wallet.

Bringing the Outside in with Target
This post is sponsored by target
As I’m sure you all have heard, here in California we’re getting summer weather instead of spring. Whatever happened to April showers? Needless to say, we’ve been spending a lot of time outside enjoying the sunshine. Might as well make the best of it, right?
I’ve always enjoyed the fresh air and if I’m stuck inside, I’m the first person to open the curtains and windows. I like to bring the outdoors inside as much as possible to whether it’s fresh cuttings from the yard, store-bought flowers, or even just the usual house plants.
I figured it would be fun to update our entryway console to bring more of that fresh springtime feel. I can already tell that updating the entry for the seasons and special occasions is going to be a favorite personal past time 😉 Usually it’s the mantel, but in this case, I work right next to the entry and it’s my view all day every day. It makes me happy to mix it up every once in a while.
Recently on one of my many (aka almost daily) visits to Target I was browsing the outdoor section. At my store, it’s pretty amazing, they have pavilions setup, lounge chairs abound, but what really caught my eye were the fun outdoor accessories and decor! They’re killing it this season.
What better way to bring the outdoors in than to decorate with outdoor accessories? Am I right? In any case, I couldn’t resist bringing some of these goodies home. They were just too good and so were the prices!
wood tray $25 | sea urchin $10 | lantern $12
conch shell $5 | Metal orb $30
Have you checked out the outdoor decor selection at Target lately? What were some of your faves? Have you ever mixed it up by bringing outside accessories inside or vice versa? Interior stylist extraordinaire, Emily Henderson teamed up with Target to show you some of her favorite ways to go “inside & out” in this fun video – if you feel like checking it out! And here are some more goodies that I adored, but didn’t bring home with me:
