Christmas is just around the corner you guys! I still feel like it’s Halloween 😉 And don’t even get me started on Thanksgiving.
Last weekend I put all of the Halloween decor away and this weekend I started a bit of Christmas decor prep. I got all of our wreaths out of storage and hung them up around the house.
I love the look of simple greens and natural accents, so the wreaths we have are pretty simple. They could definitely be used year round, but I like to pack them away during the off season, so they look festive when the holidays roll around.
I also enjoy having flowering bulbs inside during the winter. They’re so fresh and cheerful. But you definitely have to plan ahead in order to get them blooming by Christmas!
I always like planting my winter bulbs in an attractive planter. The containers I choose don’t always have drainage holes, which is ideal for bulbs. So here’s how I get around that minor detail.
I chose to plant Amaryllis and Paperwhites. You’ll need river rocks and I also used spanish moss because I like how it looks.
Choose your container. It should be wide and relatively shallow. I chose this solid, white ceramic planter to use this year.
Step 1: Fill your container halfway with rocks.

If you add alcohol ( gin, etc) to your water the plants will be shorter and NOT get floppy-no stakes needed!
