We bought the table (Crate n' Barrel) & altho the glass is not as thick as I would hope, it DOES look super with the two cream suede, parsons-like chairs that it sits between… Very natural, just the way Jim & I like it!

i've been contemplating on buying this table from crate and barrel for a while, Im glad Linda from AZ mentioned about the glass… would probably get this too, its just so cool, so organic, love it!

Very cool and it is nice to see this concept resurrected using trees as it was quite popular back in the 50's and early 60's as a DIY project. The base however was often the' root' then sanded and finished with a top-coat of shellac. It was also a great method of recycling said part of the tree when parcels of land were being cleared for the suburbs.
