I received the custom nursery bedding a couple of weeks ago and I’ve meaning to take pictures for you guys. I FINALLY got around to it. I absolutely love how it turned out! For those of you who are interested in your own custom sewn bedding, I used Etsy seller Noeske Notions. They did a fabulous job interpreting exactly what I wanted! The Vintage Plumes fabric is just gorgeous on the crib skirt, don’t you think? And for those of you familiar with Erika’s (Urban Grace) nursery for her little girl Sloan, you’ll definitely recognize the influence on the style of my crib bedding 😉
Here’s a little teaser for you:
Here’s an overall crib shot with the new skirt and bumper, you can even see a peak of the flokati rug I ordered from Gilt. |
A close-up of the bumper! The Sleep Sheep & Jelly Cat were presents from the baby shower! The crib sheet is just a plain white crib sheet, easy peasy. |
Detailed shot of the bumper ties. And I had to show you the adorable Burberry dress I just had to have when I spotted it at the Nordstrom Rack this weekend! Isn’t it just ADORABLE? |
And last but not least, the floor length crib skirt allows for plenty of storage underneath the crib. |
I had originally planned to paint the crib a peacock teal color, but the Mr. and I have been waffling back and forth on that. The white doesn’t look bad at all and the Mr would love to not have to paint the thing 😉 I’m still debating though…I need your input. What do you guys think? Would it be too much teal if we painted the crib?
(For those of you interested in previous nursery posts you can visit the “Baby B” label on the right sidebar!)
***Crib & Bumper Pad Disclaimer***
Thanks in advance for all of your concern with Baby B’s safety! I just wanted to assure you that I’m aware of the dangers of using crib bumpers like this. I plan to replace them with breathables once it becomes an issue. As for the crib, yes, it’s a drop-sided crib and yes we do have the kit to fix it. We haven’t gotten around to putting it on yet, but we definitely will before Baby B starts using it!
Thanks again!

Love the whole look with the white crib, but think it would be amazing painted a peacock teal.

It looks great Reichel! You must be getting so excited! Love the Burberry dress too. My daughter Melissa gave my daughter Ashley a Sleep Sheep for Christmas. I guess they aren't just for babies! I want one myself!

It looks SO GORGEOUS! Totally sweet & sophisticated. Perfect for a little girl I think. I love painted furniture but I think in this case I would leave the crib white. I love the clean, classic look and I think it's a great balance against the patterned skirt.

Elegant and fabulous, the teal flokati is the "cherry on top"! Great job!

The white crib looks lovely! Perhaps you could try a deep teal crib sheet as your alternate to bring in just a bit more of the elegant teal blue.
PS That dress is amazing!!

I say paint it! It will become a statement piece, because how many teal cribs do you see everyday? You have enough white in the room/bedding for balance. I am not a pro at this tho. 😉

It's beautiful! Love the colours for a baby girl too. The pattern on the skirt … mmmm! Adorable dress.
The colours and pattern look great with a white crib…but as soon as you mentioned you were going to paint it, that sounded like a great idea too.

I love the crib set-up! Erika's crib was so gorgeous and I think you did a great job of reinterpreting her work! That's a lucky little girl!

It looks so classic in white – you can't go wrong with that. However! I see your need for color since the bumper underneath is mostly white. What if you only painted the spindles a teal-tinted white or just teal? Then you'd still have the classic white crib, but with your pop of color.

Nursery is gorgeous! (of course! We expect no less from you ! ; ) I think it would be stunning in peacock blue, but I would be a little concerned about the chewing. The factory applied finishes are far more durable than what we can achieve ourselves, even with all the proper prep yadda yadda yadda…. If you feel confident about the new paint finish than go for it!! Just something to consider (I'm sure you already have!)

Hi there! Just found you through LaDolfina! What a beautiful shower you had. Lovely nursery and congrats on almost being a mommy to a little girl. I have a 6 year old daughter named Claire and she has 2 of those pink Jelly cats. They are her favorite! Looking forward to getting to know you!

I have that same crib and love it. I didn't love all the cream colored plastic for the drop down sides especially once I put the fix it kit on. So I turned the "drop down" side towards the wall so no one sees all the ugly plastic. It looks great.

How do you handle the bedskirt as you drop the mattress down on the crib as baby gets older? I never found a very satisfactory way to deal with it and just took mine off, but wonder if you have ideas? I was bummed because it was so cute and I could only use it for a couple of months…

What made you pick Noeske Notions for the crib bedding. I looked them up on Etsy and they make quilts. I am always looking for custom bed makers, but their store did not seem to specialize in this.

I vote for painting it teal. BUT – to save the Mr. from all of that detailed, hard work, pay to have someone else paint it. I have seen on HGTV where they have even taken furniture to automotive paint companies. You could always just surprise the Mr.!!!
