I had the pleasure of attending Sunset Magazine‘s newest gardens and outdoor test kitchen opening a few weeks ago at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma. It was beautiful and so inspiring! They had some amazing speakers and demos going on. So many fun vendors and activities going on a well. But underneath it all lies the gorgeousness of the gardens themselves. If you’re in the Sonoma area (wine tasting perhaps?) its definitely worth the trip.
HereĀ are some of the fun things that will welcome you when you visit:
Farm
Sunset Magazine created a farm that focuses on harvesting year round. Yes, that’s right. Imagine the meticulous planning that would have to occur to have plants ready to harvest all. through. the. year. It sounds pretty amazing doesn’t it?
Cocktail Garden
There’s a whole garden dedicated to cocktail making. Yass! It’s full of citrus, herbs and fun embelishments for cocktails of every kind. I’ll be here, drink in hand!
Flower Room
There are flowers planted in abundance here. All focused on cutting for bouquets and floral art. And they’ve been planted in groupings that compliment each other. So pretty much all you have to do to create stunning bouquet is wander down the path and cut as you go š Way to make it easy peasy! I can definitely find some inspiration here for my own yard!
Backyard Orchard
Imagine fruit trees of every kind…apricots to apples. They focused on planting fruiting trees that ripen at different times of the year, so that their is always something ready to harvest. Just like their farm garden.Ā I can only imagine what kind of fruit is ripe right now…cherries? Peaches? yum.
Gathering Space
And last but not least, Sunset created the ultimate outdoor living room. I loved this modern space; perfect for a party! They focused on drought-resistant plants of all shapes and sizes to compliment the California climate.
