Today's room has been in my inspiration folders for a while now, and since we've received some personal and reader requests for more bathrooms here on CCC, this was kind of a no-brainer.
When my good friend Tara found out she was pregnant, her first request was that in the event the baby was a boy, we design the nursery like Charlotte and Trey's apartment in Sex and the City (which of course meant she is having a girl, obviously). So in thinking of ways to incorporate that spirit into her home, I've come to think of this as the 2014 bathroom version of that minus the plaid and dust ruffles, and I have to say I'm quite smitten. And while there are perhaps more traditional elements here than I would normally choose, there's enough variety in the styles to keep it feeling really chic and a little bit exotic. That ornate table mixed with the contrasting materials on that woven basket, combined with that graphic wallpaper and those fabulous sconces--it's like Ralph Lauren-meets-Morocco.
And since it is 2014 and we have options, here are some other great mirror choices at great price points (1, 2, 3). I also found the coolest shop on Etsy with lots of different vintage brass and wood magazine racks if you're thinking of branching out. Depending on your storage and display needs, you have nearly unlimited table options (seriously, google 'moroccan side table') though my favorites are (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Same goes for the pedestal sink and toilet--there are certainly a lot of options at all price points. I tried to stay as true to the lines of these as possible but obviously do what works for you and your budget--maybe all you need is the black toilet seat to update your fixtures!
pedestal sink $380
sconces $320 (x2)
toilet seat $27
wallpaper $28 per roll
wire basket $9
wall hook $18
