Christine Dovey says
I love that you did a black toilet seat- amazing! And those bow hooks are the best, best! As for rugs, I love the tribal one best- any chance you could bargain price down?
Reichel Broussard says
Great advice! Trying out my rusty bargaining skills now π
Krystine @ www.KrystineEdwards.com says
LOVE the mirror and that last rug is FABULOUS!!!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Krystine and I love that you like that last one! I thought it would blend in nicely π
pam {simple details} says
I had to focus, my eyes keep drifting back to the gold hardware – so pretty against the black! My favorite rugs, are the prints, your vintage, etsy or tribal. Good luck!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Pam! I know what you mean, the gold/black combo is definitely eye arresting π
Tobe | BIA says
call me crazy, but i love the vintage rug you've been using. i have a thing for those so i may be biased π
the mirror is fab!! can't wait to see the art up. you are smokin me on progress. thanks for the motivation π
Unknown says
I like that rug too!
Reichel Broussard says
Ha! The progress was a tough one this week. Racing to get things done! Ahh! I'm definitely leaning towards vintage too. Plus it's unbelievably soft!
silverwaterpearls says
Love the vintage rug! Makes it a bit more luxurious than just trendy. Cant wait to see more next week!
Reichel Broussard says
VERY very true. Vintage > Trendy! π
the misfit says
For what it's worth, I like your "old" (bluish gray) rug better than any of the other choices. I think it's the prettiest, but it also looks more substantial than some of the others.
I cannot get over what a difference that black toilet seat makes!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks, the vintage one is definitely the forerunner right now π
Ashlina Kaposta says
beeeeee youtiful. i love that mirror. it has like a natural looking vibe to it which i appreciate next to the black. I love that rug with the stars, too. so fab.
i agree, the vintage rug looks best for now because its such a good contrast to everything else. XO
Reichel Broussard says
I'm still crying over that stars rug π Thanks Ashlina!
SHERRY HART says
I am loving the one you have…..of course the one you can't get is pretty swell too. The mirror is great and who knew I would love a black toilet seat so much!
Reichel Broussard says
I know that black seat definitely kicks it up a notch, doesn't it? lol.
Linda {Calling it Home} says
That mirror is perfect. I love both of those rugs in place, so I can't vote. I do need and want Turkish towels..NOW! This is already the ideal bathroom, and you have 3 weeks left.
Reichel Broussard says
Thank you Linda! Turkish towels are great I'm acquiring quite the collection, let me tell you!
Albertina M. Cisneros says
The mirror is so pretty!! It looks fabulous…and the black toilet seat was a perfect touch. I like all the rugs you showed and think any of them would look perfectly.
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Albertina π
Jessie says
I love your beautiful and adorable bow hooks. I haven't thought about it before but the black toilet seat is a nice touch. The zig zag bath mat is the one I like most!
Jessie
http://www.mixandchic.com
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Jessie! Aren't they too cute? When I saw them I had to have 'em π
Carrie @ Cosy Carolina Interiors says
The mirror looks great! Your first rug is my favorite, but I agree that it might feel different once you have everything on the walls. Can't wait to see what's next! π
Reichel Broussard says
So true…must. start. hanging. stuff now. There's so much to hang!
Elisa of Fancy Free Me says
How cute is your toilet seat (can't believe I just said that, lol) And those towels are amazing! I feel like the zig zag rug competes with your chevron mirror. Such a shame your dream rug is gone. I know you're going to find something amazing, you always do!
Reichel Broussard says
Isn't it funny? The toilet seat was the big hit today. Just like the toilet paper holder was the hit last week! LOL.
Andrea says
The vintage rug looks fantastic, I'd keep that one and save the money. And how adorable are those bow tie hooks?! This room is looking incredible!
XOXO,
The Glam Pad
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Andrea! I think that's probably the best choice too.
erin williamson says
Hello black toilet seat!!!
I love the persian rug you have.
Reichel Broussard says
What can I say? Everyone loves my toilet and toilet paper holder. Best seat in the house π
Christy K says
Okay – I am laughing at how much we all love that black toilet seat, but truly it is awesome. Makes the room all come together. So funny! I vote for the vintage one you have been using. The pattern is different, but the colors work. I think the new rug is too much like the mirror pattern and makes your eye jump back and forth. The vintage rug is more subtle, so the mirror stands out – and it is gorgeous. I love those towels from West Elm. One of my favorite stores of all time!
Reichel Broussard says
Me too! Who knew a little black could elevate a toilet so much?! Yep, I totally agree about the patterns being too similar with the rug & mirror.
Elizabeth @ The Little Black Door says
Love the black toilet seat – I was considering one of those as well. And the hooks are perfect. As for the rugs, I think I like the last one!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Elizabeth! You should, it definitely is a big hit today π
mrs. V | Chez V says
Love the black toilet seat. Who knew a loo cover could be so chic?! I prefer the vintage rug you already have – but I'm with Tobe – I am biased and tend to prefer those because of the personality they add to any space.
Reichel Broussard says
Yep, I'm in the same camp. Will probably stick with the vintage rug π Thanks lady!
Diane Amick says
What??? Are you crazy? I love both rugs that don't do it for you! Hard to decide which one I love more – oh to have such a problem.
Reichel Broussard says
Ha! Yea I guess I can't really go wrong, can I? π
Moira says
It's coming along nicely, Reichel. It makes me laugh how much you're like me in your resistance to hang things up, it is always the last thing that I do, usually when I am staging my home to sell…I can never make a decision when I comes to wall art and bathrooms are especially difficult. I love the black toilet seat, it's a nice change (thank you, Lowes!). I think that your vintage rug is the best of the choices and the style and size fit the room best IMO. I love following your progress. Once again, you're doing great work.
Reichel Broussard says
You have me perfectly pegged π lol. Thanks Moira!
Abby M. Interiors says
Trending: #blacktoiletseat. :-). It's not that it's a toilet seat, it's that most wouldn't even think of this as an option, and that's what sets you apart. Rockstar! I love the whole room. The mirror and rug you have are gorgeous, but those bow hooks have me over the moon! I wish we could share bathrooms. Lol. And ohmygosh Thank You for the shout out!! xx
Reichel Broussard says
Ha! Yes. Must use that hashtag! π
ivansbabe says
I agree with a lot of the previous posters, and like the original vintage rug best. I think the darkness and weight of it anchors everything nicely! I do however have that IKEA rug and I love it. My three year found it…I never would have got it had he not picked it up and said he wanted it, hahaha. Anyway, it's in our kitchen so I say get it anyway for $20! I promise you'll find a use for it somewhere.
Reichel Broussard says
Duly noted! Added to my Ikea shopping list π
StagerLinda says
Like everyone else, love the toilet seat. Your new mirror is fabulous. For some reason, I keep 'seeing' a black 'box' painted on the wall so the mirror would be framed in a black border? Just sayin'… This little bathroom is moving right along. I like the vintage rug best, too.
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Linda! Hmm, interesting suggestion. There's going to be quite a few things up on the walls soon though, so it might be a little busy. Stay tuned. π
Tricia says
Love the toilet seat, love the vintage bath mat and love, love that mirror. I can't even imagine what you are going to do for the next 3 weeks because it already looks so amazing!
Tricia // Suburban Bitches
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Tricia! That's so awesome of you to say! Next up? Wall art and accessories π
Jen @ RamblingRenovators says
This is looking so fabulous! I love the vintage rug. Its unexpected and contrasts nicely with the mirror. Can't believe you've accomplished so much already!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Jen! This six week time period is a doozy π lol
Tiffany says
I like your original rug the best. Everything is looking really beautiful.
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Tiffany!
Sherry Calamia says
I love the mirror, it is gorgeous! The first rug would be my choice… It seems like you really accomplished so much! Can't wait to see the progress.
Reichel Broussard says
It's definitely coming right along. It's so satisfying to see a design board come to life!
Laurie from Laurie Jones Home says
I love everything you have done so far! Your bathroom is totally up my alley! I really like the 2nd rug you have down but maybe you're right look at both rugs again after your artwork is up! Looking so good!!!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Laurie, yep. Will definitely have to revisit. Things are going to get a little more crazy up in here π
ashley says
i love it all, and i'm especially digging the black toilet seat, genius in my opinion!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Ashley! It's definitely turning out to be a big hit π lol
Beth Connolly says
I love the black and white. Those bow hooks are too cute! I used the same black toilet seat in a past One Room Challenge – it's a great way to jazz up a basic toilet.
Reichel Broussard says
That's right! I remember now, your powder. What a transformation that was!!!
kate@willowinteriors says
Who knew a toilet seat cover could make such a big difference! LOVE the mirror!!!! And I think your first rug goes better b/c I'm not digging the chevron rug (takes away from stunning mirror). So great!!!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks Kate, right now I definitely think you're right. We'll see once everything is in place!
The Pink Pagoda says
Everything is gorgeous! I actually like both of the rugs you already have!
sucia01 says
I love the mirror. But maybe it's just the photography but the mirror looks too small for the scale of the room. And the color takes away from the richness of the brass and cabinet.
Reichel Broussard says
I agree with you on the size, I definitely wish it was bigger!
Reichel Broussard says
Actually my dream would be to have 1. A bigger bathroom π 2. A double vanity 3. To use two of these mirrors vertically π
Katrina says
Hi Reichel, love your blog!!! I love your vintage rug, the chevrons in the border tie in nicely with that rad mirror! I think the chevron rug competes with it. I want that mirror for my powder room, soooooo awesome!!!!
Reichel Broussard says
Thanks so much Katrina!! It's the best mirror. I love it! If you buy it you won't regret it π
Father Dowling says
I do love the vintage rug.
Odd suggestion but have you tried looking for a Navajo horse saddle pad/blanket. They used to be all the rage in the 90s for the H/J riders and you can still find them around. They are quite inexpensive in would look like the second and third options.
Reichel Broussard says
GREAT suggestion! Looking into now π
