Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Ritz-Carlton Living Room

Hello, and Happy New Year!!! To start of 2014, I have a really fun room redo for you all :)

You may not know this about me, but I absolutely loooooooove striped walls.  I painted stripes in both my dining room and my bedroom, and every time I am in those rooms I reminded of the hours of hard work I put in and I smile at the results.  Painting stripes is time consuming, but I hope you agree with me that the results are stunning.  In fact, I chose today's room specifically because I loved the striped wall!

This is one of the rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in LA.  Now you don't have to win the lottery to stay at the Ritz!

Also, I wanted to give you a quick tip for painting stripes.  After you mark your stripes (don't forget the level) with a pencil and tape them off with painters tape, go over the tape with a bit of Mod Podge and a foam brush.  This will seal the tape to the wall and give you the cleanest line imaginable - even on textured walls!

PS I know the couch and chair are a little more expensive than I'd normally show you on a Room Redo - but they are just SO close to the inspiration pieces that I couldn't resist! Hope that's okay with you :)

couch $1,150
chair $675
coffee table $279
wall mirror $366
lamp $100
frames $15 x 4
curtains $83

  1. Thanks for that painting tip! I haven't mustered the strength to pain stripes yet, but I hope to at some point.

    1. You should totally do it! Stripes are a little intimidating but so worth the effort :)

      Good luck!

  2. Thanks so much for including, SS :) I really appreciate it! xo!

  3. The copy cat mirror from Lamps Plus says that is only 8" wide though :(

    1. Good catch! Sorry for that - I totally misread the dimensions. This mirror will also give you a similar look:

PS - Who does an 8 inch mirror?????

    2. Ha! I know, seriously. And 8" for that price, I thought it had to be a misprint. But, then it said the mirror itself was only 4 1/2", so I figured it was accurate. Thanks for the new find!

  4. What are those little eyeball things on the right side? Interesting.
