Christmas Gift Wrap on the Cheap with Lowe’s
It’s December, almost time for Christmas! And I thought I’d share a fun little gift wrapping project I came up with using craft paper from Lowe’s, sharpies, twine and miscellaneous ribbons and supplies I already had around the house.
Who says you need to buy expensive gift wrap this year? Craft paper works perfectly!
I seriously love craft paper. I always have a ton of it in different sizes and thicknesses around the house for projects, coloring, wrapping, painting, etc. I thought it would be fun to use it to wrap our gifts this year. It’s the perfect blank slate.
I decided to deck out my gifts with black to tie in with my black Christmas tree. So I used a few black (and white) ribbons I had in my stash, along with some twine (also from Lowe’s) and a few fun feathers to create a quick and easy trio of packages all ready to place under the tree.
I drew quick and and easy Christmas trees with my handy sharpie on one box.
The tags I created using black construction paper and metallic fine point sharpies.
All in all, a fun little holiday project to get you in the Christmas spirit! Have you guys used craft paper as gift wrap before? Isn’t it perfectly rustic? How did you fancy it up?

Black and white on kraft looks GREAT – I'm really liking the hand drawn trees, too. I'll be trying something this on my kraft boxes ASAP!

I bought exactly the paper you linked to at my Lowe's and it's incredibly sheer – too sheer to actually use as wrapping paper, even with a blank box underneath. Not to mention it's definitely not textured like your photos. Did you double up layers when wrapping?

That sounds awful. There's different grades of kraft paper. I bought the super thick kind.
