I figured it was about time for a little nursery update! If you’ve missed previous post about the nursery click here to catch up! The Mr. & I did a lot of work and organizing over the holidays. We still have a ways to go, but it’s definitely looking more put together 🙂 There are still some things on the shopping list (changing pad, crib mattress, floor lamp…to name a few). We also need to add some more playful touches so it looks less like an adult’s room and more like a baby’s room.
The chaise will be perfect for napping & sleeping during those late night feedings. The white peacock painting has found the perfect home in this corner (Thanks again Terri!!!)
After a couple of mishaps, we finally found the perfect dresser for the room. Thank you Craigslist! I absolutely adore it. The grain in the antique oak is just so gorgeous, they really don’t make ’em like they used too. And the wavy front adds just the right amount of “girlieness” 🙂 It will double as a changing table once we get a changing pad for the top.
The unicorn poster was mine when I was a little girl. My Mom gave it to me for my 10th birthday and now our little girl gets to enjoy it too! It still needs to be hung…
Oh and how do you guys like the custom trophy cup? Most babies get a silver sippee cup or a spoon, mine gets a silver horse trophy cup 😉
This side of the room has become a catch all for now 😉 I finally decided on this shelf is from Target. I’m going to be lining the back panel with fabric, but haven’t decided which fabric to use yet…oh and I still want to get some storage bins or baskets for the bottom shelf. Don’t you just love the vintage wool coat? I found it at a vintage store for $19. It’s from the 50’s and in perfect condition. The collar and cuffs are suede! I LOVE it.
The crib makes a great storage area 😉 Oh and the bedding should be coming in later this week, can’t wait! Of course we’re still needing the mattress, lol.
This faux bamboo end table was a steal for only $30 at a sample sale. It was halfway painted white when I bought it. The Mr. did a great job painting it a glossy black. Sooo much better.
A handy iPod dock for some soothing music for baby. And a cute peacock blue tealight holder also a gift from Terri @ La Dolfina!
I bought the chandelier from Pottery Barn Teen and it was exactly what I was searching for. It was a breeze to install and adds the perfect amount of sparkle to the room with out being too stuffy.
I couldn’t resist this little guy when I saw him on Gilt…He’s the perfect mini-version of Cristof! He has little wheels in his hooves and makes a cute (and surprisingly not annoying) neighing sound when you squeeze his ear.

I have that exact same dresser (different pulls). It was my aunt's and it's gone through many paintings, stainings and strippings. May I recommend you add clear glass pulls to it though?

I'm curious, though, with a selfish question! The chandelier is all sold out at PB Teen. Did you happen to see anything similar anywhere else?

LOVE the chandelier but don't see it on the PB Teen website. Is it already gone?

I can't believe you got that chandelier at Pottery Barn. And that dresser is gorgeous, I haven't seen that type of grain around.

Great Blog…. for the baby toddler safety ( and believe me they walk quickly) bolt the target 5 piece shelf to the wall so it is not something to fall on that precious babe.
The Horse and Habit says
I love the nursery! It has the perfect equestrian touch. I put a link to it on my FB page. Ashley @ The Horse and Habit.

Beautiful! Can't wait to see the bedding!
Does your crib have a drop side or fixed rail? Or is there something you were able to do to secure a drop side? I'm having a crib dilemma myself. Thanks!
Jen Ramos says
I DEFINITELY think the pottery barn chandelier adds a great touch! Of course i love the horsey too! :)))

Oh I soooo love how your nursery is looking so far. You've done a great job! I really enjoyed the pictures and reading your comments about where everything came from- it feels so cozy and authentic! I love that you collected things from so many different places. Can't wait to see the rest of the little details! 🙂

Hi! I'm a recent follower of your blog and I LOVE IT! Thanks!
I actually really like your table top lamps and was wondering where you purchased them?
Thanks!
CopyCatChic says
Thanks Ashley 🙂 Wait until you see pictures of the baby shower I'm having…lol. You'll love it.
CopyCatChic says
Thanks for the tip, we plan on doing that, but I want to finish the fabric backdrop on it first.
CopyCatChic says
How sad for you.
Noreen Stegemann says
Wow, looks great! What kind of hooks are you using to hang the peacock painting?
Down and Out Chic says
oh i just love everything about it- from the striped rug to the rocking horse. it's beautiful!
Bzmom says
The room is adorable. My children are grown now but I've given this idea to some of my "new young moms". Line the drawers of the dresser with the wrapping paper from your showers. My girls always loved looking at the paper as they got older, recognizing it from the shower photos of me opening the gift.
Emily_corson says
I am due with my second child in 2weeks and literally bought the same tiger oak dresser (from craigslist) on new years eve! When I saw your post I couldn't believe it! I'm wondering if you have any cleaning suggestions. Mine is in pretty good shape and I definitely won't be stripping it at this point. I am going to use a little magic eraser for minor scratches but would love a rec for making it fresh and shiny.
Thanks! Emily
CopyCatChic says
For right now the room is for me 😉 When she's older and wants pink stuff we can add it then!
CopyCatChic says
What a coincidence! You have great taste 😉 Maybe murphy's oil soap? Mine came in pretty good shape so I didn't have to do much.
CopyCatChic says
What a GREAT idea! I'm totally going to do that 🙂 Thanks for the cute tip!
CopyCatChic says
It's actually a molding hook that you hook on the molding at the top of the wall. Then I just hung it from a ribbon 🙂 It's great, no holes in your wall and you can reposition it at any time!
Sarahalexanian says
Where are the lamps from?
TwoWishes Tara says
Love, love, love! And of course this is what you do, but I'm REALLY impressed that the room looks so luxuriously expensive in light of what you actually spent.
Connshire says
Perfect! I'm sure her taste will be just as fabulous as her mom's! 🙂
Dixie says
A nursery any baby would love! I like baby's rooms that don't look like a baby… I do have one question though. You didn't mention where the milkglass (looking?) lamp came from. I love it!
Aimee says
The Junior Classics!!! I have those books! They were mine as a child, and I just packed them up yesterday (we're hoping to move soon) and was thinking that at the new house, we need to put them where the boys will be encouraged to read from them more. It's so heartwarming to see something you love pop up in someone else's space, isn't it?
The nursery looks beautiful.
E says
I love love love the nursery! I have a very similar dresser (bought it for $5 at a garage sale; it was painted green at the time!) that I just moved into our guest room and have been looking for white lamps to blend with it. Where did you find your lamp?
CopyCatChic says
I loved them when I was younger too! Had to have them in the nursery for lil' Baby B to enjoy too! 😉 Thanks Aimee!
CopyCatChic says
The white lamp was a hand-me-down from my last job 😉
CopyCatChic says
I don't know! I'm sorry, I had them on my desk at my last job and took them with me when I left!
Shannondawn100 says
I just found your blog and immediately noticed The Junior Classics collection as well! They are sitting in a box on my hearth; my mom finally remembered to send them to me. I always thought when I was tiny that they would be the things I would want to save from our house if there were ever a fire. And I had the most amazing experience with them – they were shelved on the bottom shelf of a bookcase, and I was never directed, just left to discover them on my own. They have seriously informed my life. You have made my day – I agree that it's very heartwarming to see something so dear to me show up in such a beautiful space! It seems like you may have used their colors as your inspiration for the nursery…Thank you!
