The Hunt for the Perfect Sofa
Thursday, September 16, 2010
OK, the Mister and I have been seriously needing a sofa lately. The one we have now is an ole' Ikea Ektorp that we got off of Craigslist for $60 - I won't mention why we had to get rid of the sofa before that, seriously, I'm not mentioning it ;)
So back to our current sofa...don't get me wrong it's a good sofa, comfortable & cheap, what's not to like. Maybe the old blue slipcover that came with it? We were planning to buy a fun slipcover from Bemz, but never got around to it.

Fast-forward to today...thanks to the upcoming arrival of Baby B, we have to make some major changes to the Copy Cat Casita. The office will now become the nursery...and the new location of the office? Or shall I say the...desk: the living room. Sigh, I know, I know...the issues of living in a two bedroom bungalow. My office is now being down-sized from a whole room down to a small desk (more on the desk later!). Ah, the sacrifices we make for lil' ones.

OK, so the problem at hand? I think we need a smaller sofa. I've always loved Ektorps because they are slipcovered and the slipcovers are soooo easy to replace/change at any time. But I feel like the time has come to buy a "grown-up" sofa...lol.

The requirements?
- Cheap price (but hopefully good quality!)
- Slipcovered or leather (the only way to keep a sofa clean)
- Light colored (which is most likely why we won't get leather...)
- Stylish - of course!
- Smaller apartment sized sofa
The hunt is on. Any suggestions? I'm thinking we might have to go custom!
