It's Reader Request Friday! And it's a fun one.

The Pottery Barn Photographer's Tripod Floor Lamp is absolutely stunning! The price tag...not so much. Help!!

These lamps are so unique and fun. I love their vintage style, don't you? Here's a range of lamps, I've found. CB2 used have a great one for sale, but it looks like it's no longer available...bummer. But hopefully one of these will catch you're eye. The prices range from outrageous to attainable :)

Restoration Hardware's Royal Master Sealight Floor Lamp = $1,495

Restoration Hardware's Half-Mile Ray Seachlight Floor Lamp = $620

Ethan Allen's Retro Photographer's Floor Lamp = $549

Pottery Barn's Tripod Floor Lamp = $299

CSN Lighting's Adesso Spotlight Floor Lamp = $74.70

Wow the Restoration Hardware offerings are just amazing. Note to all in regard to the pottery barn photographers floor lamp...the reason I found this blog to begin with is because I am taking mine back to PB! Indeed it is true that the lamp itself is strikingly handsome, however upon putting it together I found it to be RIDICULOUSLY flimsy...meaning the legs move around, the stem moves around, all parts of this thing move around when you touch it or position it...wobbly wobbly. I was super annoyed and assumed I had received the one bum one in the lot so I took it back to the store only to discover ALL of the ones they had on display did the exact same thing! After much brooding myself and the PB manager concluded that that is how the lamp is and will always be. How ridiculous is that? I mean sweet christ who in their right mind would want a teeter tottering wobbly lamp that LOOKS like its a solid, well built item but in reality is a cheap chinese piece of crap that one shall pay dearly for price wise.

So to sum up...damn good looking lamp but stupid, cheap, flimsy design that Williams Sonoma (parent company to PB) should be absolutely mortified to claim as theirs.

Recounting that story has even now, many months later, conjured up the sour, bitter taste that experience left in my very soul. I have not been back to PB since and prob never will.

My reason for this post is one of simple warning...warning warning warning!!! Great lamp, just dont ever move it once positioned. Its instability will irk you to your very soul.

As for myself...the hunt for the ever so fab retro lamp continues.

Looking for copy of the CB2 (Crate and Barrel 2) Camo Floor Lamp. Any color shade. Has anyone seen this out and about?
Thanks Judy
