Okay I’ve been eying the Organic Cotton Pin-Tuck Duvet from West Elm lately, but they haven’t been carrying it in white which is what I need for the ole’ master bedroom. I’ve been seeing this bedding EVERYWHERE, haven’t you? I was browsing www.WestElm.com and it looks like they now have it in white! Woo hoo!
I was planning on using this post as one of my Chic Finds,
but now I can’t…you’ll see why 😉
West Elm’s Organic Pin-Tuck (Queen) Duvet in White for $99.99
Target’s Kissing Pleat Comforter Set in White for $99.99
Okay so my Chic Find isn’t such a find anymore…lol. BUT there are a few differences to note. One the Target bedding is actually a comforter, not a comforter cover. AND the Target set also includes two shams and a bedskirt.

I love the west elm bedding, I have been debating ordering it.

I bought the Target one!!! I needed it in the king size so…I went with the cheaper of the two. I actually bought it yesterday and it arrived today–I guess the distribution center is here in the DFW area. I’m guessing the West Elm one probably looks a little nicer but I am overall quite happy with it!

Jamie – That’s awesome! You’ll have to take pictures and show me how it turned out 🙂
SweetPea – I say go for it, I love mine!

I know this is like a million months later but here is a picture for that comforter on our bed! http://thesouthernroyalty.blogspot.com/2009/10/two-projects-down.html
Feel free to share design advice on what I should get to replace that bookcase on the right 🙂 Darn me for not wanting a matching set when we ordered the bed and side table! I've thought about maybe a small white desk?

Be careful with the pintuck from westelm. I bought a king in sea spray and loved it so much at first. But a couple weeks in the pintuck stitches had already ripped several times, just from making the bed. And I was very careful with it! The gal at the store was really nice, and said the pintuck duvet isn't the best for a master bedroom where it is used everyday because it does rip really easily. I've been trying to find an alternative ever since, because I love love the look of it. Good luck with yours!

I LOVE the West Elm version of the Pintuck duvet, but I don't love the price. Check out this DIY version I blogged about:

Hi
I live in Australia and am wondering if there are any department stores/companies who will ship to Australia with this type of duvet cover or comforter. Both West Elm and Target do not ship outside of the States.
Anyone help?

I have to say, I followed the DIY version below and it turned out perfect… looks just like everything above! It was really easy and another great thing is that I was able to really reinforce the pin tucks so that they don't pull out which is a common complaint. I spent about 30 bucks and four hours. Did I mention mine also has beautiful mother of pearl-esque buttons? Sometimes it's easier to just spend a bit more money but I really recommend this project. Here are some pictures in case you decide you want to give it a try: https://picasaweb.google.com/mclear7/DIYProjects#5578980492118251538

i bought the queen size pin tucked duvet last weekend at west elm and i am going to return it this weekend since it was made a lot bigger than the standard duvet cover for my down comforter. can anyone tell me if it is really made like that or there must be some mistake in the packaging so that i can just exchange it as i am really obsessed witht he design =)… thanks

@Jolenta in Australia.
West Elm now ships worldwide, expensive though but if you don't mind, you can have anything from its site right at your door.
I ordered this Pintuck bedding along with a number of other items, to Switzerland and it was promptly delivered through DHL.

I know this post is old, however Thank You so much for posting it, West Elm still has this set in queen (cover and two shams)w/out shipping is $170.00, Target has the duvet set in queen for $70.00 both sites still have these pin-tuck sets available. I saw the one in west elm a few years ago when I got the catalog in the mail, I have always loved it, recently I started thinking of it again and was about 5 minutes from ordering it via west elm until I saw this post by chance! Forget buying it from west elm I'll save myself a $100.00 and buy it from target and use that saved money for other items I want for my house! I absolutely love your site!
